Alternating Current:
A current which changes it’s polarity and magnitude with respect to time is called alternating current.

Waveform:
The shape of the curve obtained by plotting the instantaneous value of voltage or current as ordinate
against time is called waveform or waveshape.

Instantaneous Value:
The value of an alternating quantity at any instant is called instantaneous value.it can be represented by “e”
or “i”.

Cycle:
One complete set of positive and negative value of an alternating quantity is known as cycle.

Alternation:
One half cycle of an alternating quantity is called an alternation. An alternation spans 180° electrical.

Time Period:
The time taken in second to complete one cycle of an alternating quantity is called time period.
