Pedagogy Planning

In this interactive white board activity, the children will touch the board to place the
appropriate foods in my plate template and learn about the difference in macro nutrients and
a balanced diet.
Pedagogy

Activity This lesson will start by introducing students to what the macro
nutrients are. And how through the 3 macronutrients we create a
balanced diet. As well as how what we eat fuels our body and
gives us energy.
1. The first activity the students will do is writing down
their favorite snack and what macro nutrient category
they think it falls into. This is to promote critical thinking
on what marcos are and applying them to things they
enjoy eating.
2. The second activity will be through the interactive
whiteboard. There will be a series of pictures of different
foods. Students will come up one at a time and place an
item of food in the designated category of the my plate
template.
3. While students are waiting to put one of the foods in a
proper category they will work on creating a balanced
meal on a my plate template that they would enjoy
eating.
