Interview Questions for ENGL104 Project on Feminism

Gender: Male
Anti (modern) Feminism
Religious: Yes I am religious

1. What is feminism to you?

1). Feminism at its core I believe is the idea that men and women are equal and should
be treated accordingly.

2. Do you believe feminism and women’s rights differ? If so, in what ways?
2). Yes, I believe they differ, feminism in its modern stage is not about empowering
women, its about playing victim and antagonising anyone who disagrees with them both
men and women, whilst believing women to be above men when feminism is meant to
mean they are equal.

3. Did you grow up in a community that supports feminism? Do you believe their
ideologies affected your view on feminism? If so in what way?
3). No, I did not, the idea that you should practice what you preach is what lead me to
have my view that modern feminists are hypocrites, but they did not affect my belief
that men and women should have equal opportunities.

4. Do you believe that there is a link between the LGBTQ+ community and
feminism? If so, do you believe this can be a reason for why some religious
people often avoid the idea of feminism?
4). Yes, I do currently the LGBT community along with feminism thrive and survive based
on the notion that they are victims and the reason for their shortcomings comes from
their sexuality of gender and not the fact that they might just not be cut out for certain
things. So naturally the modern feminist movement sided with the LGBT community as a
means to broaden the scope of people to antagonize, and no I don’t believe that’s the
reason religious people avoid the idea of feminism.

5. To what extent do you think there is a connection between feminism and

rebellion amongst young girls (fleeing from the country/seeking asylum) ?
5) I think there is a strong connection between feminism and young girls rebelling
against their parents who may have more traditional views; however I don’t believe that
to be the case of young girls fleeing away.

6. How comfortable are you with the label feminist? Please explain/give
examples.

now would I?
7. In what ways do you perceive feminists differently than non-feminists?
7) I tend to perceive modern day feminists as idiotic, as they are being hypocrites and

the past and current practices because of an inconvenience in the past.
