Magnetic field at any point on the axis of a circular coil carrying current:

Consider a circular coil of radius ‘a’ of center ‘O’.

Let ‘P’ is a point situated on the axis of the coil at a
distance ‘x’ from the center of the coil and ‘r’ is the
distance from the point to the circumference of the coil ,
let ‘I’ amount of current flow in the coil.
Magnetic field at point ‘P’ due to the current ‘i’ for
element ‘dl’ is

=

=

= sin 90 = 1

= -----------------------(i)
This magnetic field is along PQ and perpendicular to the plane containing and !.

There is also another element , here the magnetic field "#′%′ along ‘PR’ is

dB’ = ---------------------------(ii)

Resolving equation (i) and (ii) in to two components we have,

For dB
i) dB cos ∅ along vertical
ii) dB sin ∅ along horizontal
for dB’
i) dB’ cos ∅ along vertical
ii) dB’ sin ∅ along horizontal

Here )*+ components are equal magnetic and opposite in direction. Hence they cancel each
other.so the total magnetic field at ‘P’ die to the whole coil is
