Introduction

Paper bags were considered a more alternative bags for a long time. No doubt, there
are some benefits that we can get in using paper bags. We often think of paper bags as a
better alternative for the environment. Paper bags are biodegradable, it doesn’t threaten
marine animals if they end up in our oceans and they are also easier to recycle than
plastics.

A paper bag is a bag made of paper, usually craft paper. Paper bags are commonly
used as shopping bags, packaging, and sacks. In the Philippines, paper bags are widely
used as an alternative instrument on shopping instead of using plastics. But what if this
paper bags has another function? A promotional bag with a difference!

Background

Paper bags bags were introduced in the 1970’s, and thanks to their lower cost,
eventually replaced paper bags as the bag of choice for grocery stores. With the trends
towards phasing out lightweight plastic bags, though, some grocers and shoppers have
switched back to paper bags. In 2015, the world’s largest paper shopping bag was made
in the UK and recorded by Guinness World Records.

Paper bags are used for packaging, used as big sacks and also as shopping bags.
Durability, eco-friendly nature and convenience are the benefits of paper bags.
Additionally, paper bags can be recycled for reuse which is an added benefit from
environment health point of view. It can be used to package several items and come in
varying designs and sizes.

Disposable paper bags are as questionable as disposable plastic bags. Making a

paper bag emits 51% more global gasses, creates 50 times more water pollution, uses 4
times more raw materials, and consumes 2 times more energy. Also, paper production
emits air pollution, specifically 70% more pollution than the production of plastic bags.
According to certain studies, manufacturing paper emits 80% more greenhouse gasses.
The paper bag making process results in 50 times more water pollutants than making
plastic bags.

Paper bags recycling has another problem. Only about 80% of all paper bags end up
in landfills. There, they only often do not biodegradable for decades, or hundred years,
because of a lack of oxygen. It takes about 91% more energy to recycle a pound of
plastic. Recent studies suggest we may consider landfill more like long term storage for
paper.

Paper bags are unlikely to be re-used once it was used. Franklin Associates
conducted a pioneer report in the year 1990 and it was concluded that the emissions from
manufacturing paper bags were roughly three times compared to plastic bags.

Even though there are these issues regarding paper bags, there’s still a high need and

demand for paper products. A solution for this is to use seed paper. The following are the
objectives of seed paper bags:

 To make an alternative bags from recycled paper which is embedded with plant and
flower seeds.

 The purpose of our product is not only to recycle but to lessen a number of plastics
in the community.

 This paper isn’t only for the trash can, but it can also be planted in a flower pot or in
your garden.

Project Description

All of us know that paper bags are commonly used for grocery items. This
innovative type of paper bag may not be the typical paper bag we usually see. These
paper bag called the “Seed Paper Bag” can help us people in our everyday life. It has
materials such as bag, paper sack, craft paper and packet or container. We didn’t know
that this type of paper bag have a big health to save and lessen different kinds of
pollution in our environment. This Seed Paper Carrier Bag is one of the best way to
conserve and minimize the waste in our environment. Instead of burning and throwing
this everywhere you can use it for planting. You simply help our Mother Nature and at
the same time you learn to discipline yourself.

Seed Paper Bag are not common nowadays. It is a special type of paper bag because
this seed paper was made not just in plastic but in the seed itself. There is what you
called injection of seeds wherein the crashed seeds are mix exactly to the paper bag.
