“Pros and cons of online teaching”

In just two months, our lives have evolved. In Pakistan, there are lockdowns in many places due
to Covid 19. Because of Covid -19, our world is digital these days, and that is the need of the
hour. But when pros arise, we also have some cons.

Some pros and cons of online teaching are following:

Pros:

One of the biggest benefits of online classes is the flexible schedule. We can attend classes from
anywhere in the world and anytime we want to attend classes. Online classes are a great option
for students studying and working. Online courses allow us to sit at home and take our courses,
which in turn saves the huge cost of transportation required to reach our educational facilities.
This also saves our time and energy, which earlier was exhausted in travelling for long hours. All
the information that we will need will be safely stored in an online database. This includes things
like live discussion documents, training materials and emails. This means that if there's ever
anything that needs to be clarified, the student will be able to access these documents fast, saving
valuable time.

Cons:

When we are taking our online classes, the sense of personal interaction is missing. We cannot
have face to face interaction. Online classes decrease our confidence as we just have to attend the
classes and ask questions virtually. Not everybody is privileged enough to afford a proper
internet connection required for online classes. There are many areas where still the internet
connection facility is not well developed or available. Some people don’t even have access to
Mobile phones or laptops. Self-disciplined students can benefit from the flexibility and
convenience of online classes, but the lack of formal structure can be a pitfall for undisciplined
or unmotivated students.
