Professional Growth Plan

Name: Sarah Causey | Majors: Theatre & Secondary Education; Spanish Education

Why are you pursuing this degree?

I have loved learning new things since I was a small child, but I know this is not the same for everyone. I want to use my passion for Theatre
and Spanish to inspire others the same way that I was and am inspired by learning. I am also pursuing this degree because I greatly enjoy
small scale theatre and having the ability to teach hands on in each aspect of theatre.

What do you want the outcome to be? Is this outcome directly related to your “why?”
In my content areas, I want to show students the endless opportunities available in theatre and I want to show the importance of knowing
and understanding Spanish Culture. Additionally, I want to help my students discover something they enjoy learning about regardless of my
content area. I also want to inspire students to become lifelong learners. teach children that theatre can be so much more than just acting or
directing

How are you going to work toward making that outcome possible?
I want to continue to grow my knowledge of these two subjects so that I will be able to help students find at least one thing that interests
them. I am also working to find new and different ways to teach so that I will always be able to engage my students. I also want to become a
lifelong learner so that I will have the understanding of how to teach my students as they grow and change and be able to lead by example so
that they might be inspired to also become lifelong learners.
