DISCUSSION BOARD INSTRUCTIONS

This course includes 4 Discussion Board Forums in 3 different formats. Two forums will follow
the standard format of written threads and replies. Each thread must be 250–300 words. In
addition to the thread, you must reply to 2 other students’ threads. Each reply must be 100–150
words.

One forum will require a blog post as the thread with written replies. You will set up a blog in
response to a prompt. Free blogs may be set up through www.blogger.com,
www.wordpress.com, or some other web based provider. Note: If you already have a blog, you
may use it for this project. You will paste the URL for this particular blog post into the area for
the discussion board thread. The blog post must be 250–300 words and must contain at least 3
visuals related to the topic. You will respond to 2 classmates’ blogs in the discussion board reply
box (as with a standard Discussion Board Forum). Each reply must be 100–150 words.

One forum (in response to a prompt) will require a video thread with video replies. Each video
thread must be 120–150 seconds of student-spoken audio. Replies (to 2 other students’ threads)
will be 60–90 seconds of student-spoken audio.

Note: If the thread or replies fall significantly below the length requirement, points may be
deducted from multiple criteria areas in the grading rubric. If the video posts fall significantly
below reasonable aesthetic expectations, points may be deducted from multiple criteria areas in
the grading rubric.

Each thread is due by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Thursday of the assigned module/week. Replies are
due by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Monday of the same module/week.
