DIGITAL MEDIA
Digital media means any media that are encoded in machine-readable formats.
Digital media can be created, viewed, distributed, modified, and preserved on digital
electronics devices.
Digital can be defined as any data represented with a series of digits, and Media
refers to a method of broadcasting or communicating information.
The 3 Types of Digital Media
1. Paid Media - Paid media is marketing that you pay for. Paid media includes TV ads,
print advertising, sponsorships, and other types of media. In digital marketing, paid
media includes pay-per-click (PPC) ads, paid social media ads, and search engine
marketing (SEM).Search Engine Ads.
Examples of paid media involve both offline and online channels. Some of them
include the following:
6
▪ Print Ads - They include postcards, magazines, newspapers, flyers, billboards,
posters, etc. Although effective when placed appropriately, the print ads are
relatively expensive because of the production process involved.
2. Owned Media
Owned media comprises digital marketing channels that a company exercises
complete control over, such as their branded website and social media. Improving
upon and leveraging owned media efforts often increases the effectiveness of paid
media and earned media for online businesses.
3. Earned Media
Earned media is defined as any publicity or media that is not generated by your
company or agents of your company, but rather by organic methods via customers,
social media fans, journalists or bloggers. It’s any publicity that you have not
commissioned or paid for, is created by a third party and is not published on a site
that you own.
All the artistic skills and techniques that go into producing books, of course
have their counterpart in the ever-growing world of digital media. This means that
books that were originally available only in print are being gradually converted to
digital format, while new books are now conceptualized, written, designed, and
illustrated precisely for these online media.
This also means that the manner by which today’s readers can find, access, and enjoy
these electronic books (or ‘ebooks’) is via digital media tablets, ebook readers, and
other handheld reading devices. One such device that is available locally is the ebook
reader called Kobo, which features international as well as Philippine titles.
Likewise gaining in popularity are social media-based publishing sites, like Wattpad,
that serve as communities for millions of budding writers to share their original stories
online. This phenomenon, along with the rise of electronic distribution platforms, such
as Flipreads, which provide access to the works of Filipino authors and publishers, is
also opening up exciting new opportunities for young artists to do the digital design
and illustrations for all these upcoming titles.

Guide Questions:
• What do you observe after watching the video?
• Is the dance style creative? Why?
What is it
SHUFFLING
Shuffling consists of two basic moves: the shuffle and the stomp. Most beginner
shufflers learn to master these two basic moves before moving to more advanced
moves. After mastering the basic shuffle moves you can throw in some spins, jumps,
10
and slides and you have got yourself a complete shuffle routine. After that, all you
need is some EDM bangers flowing through your speakers to let the fun begin.
A dance style originating in the 1980's characterized by fast heel and toe twisting and
stepping, running man variations, stomping with the beat, foot swiveling from side to
side, and having feet that appear to be gliding on and off the ground.
Shuffling is mostly for the feet and the arms just compliment whatever foot
motions are taking place. This dance style is very high paced, intense cardio, and is
usually to done to music with a constant beat such as electro, hardstyle, and/or
techno.
Shuffling is preferrable in shoes as it will not hurt your feet, but also acceptable
in socks or barefoot. Outfit and clothing style are irrelevant. Many shufflers (anyone
who is decent or better at shuffle dancing) gain popularity by dancing in public, at
meetups, but mostly by posting videos of them shuffling online.
After watching other amazing shufflers, you will most likely want to learn how
to or at least want to obsessively watch others shuffle because it looks cool

What is it
People around the world, approximately more than 5 million suffers from
unintentional or intentional, causing variety of disability cases that create societies
major public health problem. People from lower to middle world countries suffer fatal
injuries, resulting to higher date percentage compared to higher income-generating
nation. More so, individual from lower class families are more likely to be at risk from
the health-related problems as impact of these injuries.
14
World health Organization reported that among industrialized country, injury
causes the highest rate of death and permanent disability, on the other hand, it is
imperative for poorer countries to have and implement prevention strategies that are
appropriate, cost-efficient and effective. Indeed, European and South-East Asian
countries are now serious on injuries as a leading cause of death and disability in
their children while Australian nations emphasize priority actions for injuries that
are a high burden on the community, groups at high risk of injury, and injuries with
high success rates from prevention measures. In related to these concerns, WHO
highlighted “appropriate” prevention strategies as taking into account the
complexities of the problem, resources accessibility and, proven strategies from
other places (WHO).
To address Injuries and Violence Prevention worldwide, World Health
Organization (WHO) has collaborated with agencies from all continents to develop
the tools needed for collecting data on injuries. The first product of this collaboration
is the International Classification for External Causes of Injuries (ICECI), a detailed
classification scheme for injuries that complements the existing International
Classification of Diseases.
International Goal of ICECI:
What I Can Do
My Global Mind
Complete the Table by researching 6 types of injuries and the countries who
experienced those most. Analyze the root and cause of those injuries that affect
individual health-level then suggest your solution for global mitigation and prevention.
