hi (he), ran (run), ya (ye in yeah), gar (gir in girth), bha, ha (hu in hurt)
Meaning:
Notes:
‘Hi’ means that which is beneficial (not necessarily pleasing). ‘Ramya’ means that which is pleasing.
The Vedas are both pleasing and beneficial. Vishnu is ‘garbha’ in vedic words – HE is hidden, HE
resides in them. Hence, HE is Hiranyagarbha.
Another way of interpreting this explanation is that it is Vishnu alone who is praised in the Vedas. All
the suktas and mantras about other Gods are eventually praising Vishnu only.
