3. Operating procedures
3.1 Starting the engine
As the boat may be fitted with different engines, please refer to engine manual
for details about engine operation and maintenance. See fig.5
Fig. 5
Console
CAUTION!
Battery chargers may be damaged or overload its fuses if engine is
started with power-supply connected.
1 Turn main battery switch to “ON” position.
2 Check that the emergency stop witch on the control panel or-mounted
separately is in the run position. This is normally in connection with the
dead-man switch. This switch has a lanyard, which must be attached to
the driver’s clothing. This ensures that the engine will stop if the driver is
removed from his position.
3 Check that the throttle control is the neutral position.
4 Push red button, the alarm will make a sound; if engine alarm light isn ’t
out after 7 seconds, check the engine.
5 Push green button until engine start, but no longer than 10 seconds at a
time to avoid overheating. When the engine starts, release start button and
reduce choke gradually.
Note:
(1) Don’t operate green switch when the engine is running.
(2) If the engine dose not start after 2-3 attempts, investigate and rectify the
problem before starting is continued. Repeated starting attempts will only
deplete batteries and damage engine.
WARNING
The helmsman should pay careful attention the position of the person in the
water.
Never attempt to bring someone into the boat over the stern. Always use
the side of the boat.

5 MAINTENACE PROCEDURES
Foreword
Maintenance to this craft is extremely important, as the duties it fulfils require the
boat to be in a state of continuous readiness. To keep a record of maintenance sign
the attached log in chapter 8 after each inspection. Continue on additional sheet
when the enclosed log is full.
5.1 Loose equipment
Loose equipment should be periodically checked to ensure equipment is properly
stowed and is in serviceable condition. See list at the end of the document.
5.2 Hatches
Rubber gaskets around hatches should be checked for deterioration. If any sign of
cracking of brittleness exist, gasket should be replaced immediately.
5.3 Lifting hook
Lifting hook should be checked for any visual damage or deterioration. Check if
safety pin is free to move.
5.4 Engine
The engine maintenance and checks should be performed in accordance with the
engine manufacturers instruction manual.
Each boat it is supplied with a flushing kit. Connect the kit to the cooling water
inlet and turn on the water supply before starting the engine out of water in
accordance with the maintenance schedule to ensure the boat is in ready to use
condition.
Lubrication and greasing points are specified in the engine manufactures manual
5.5 Oil and fuel
As this boat can be fitted with different engines see the engine manufacturers
manual for the specific oil and fuel mixture to be used.
Refill the fuel tank and separate two-stroke oil tank, if installed, after boat
operation. Check all fuel lines for leaks and deterioration. Leaking coupling may
be tightened, otherwise line needs to be replaced.
5.6 Electrical system
The main engine start battery, emergency start battery and radio battery, if fitted,
should be checked to ensure the terminals are tight and clean. Should the terminals
show any sign of corrosion, disconnect and clean thoroughly and smear with some
Vaseline grease.
Check search light and signal light. If failing to work inspect wires, contact and
bulb. Clean or replace as necessary.
