TDW closures are designed to meet ASME B31.4 and B31.8 code for pressure piping requirements. ASME B31.3 and Section VIII Division 1 (design and construction
only, no code stamp) closures are available upon special request.
*ASME B31.8 paragraph 831.373 requires that maximum allowable stresses for material used in closure heads not exceed 60%
SMYS, and paragraph 841.121 requires that fabricated assemblies be designed at least to the design factor of 0.60.
Allowable test pressures are in accordance with requirements of applicable ASME code. Consult the factory for appropriate values.
TDW shop pressure testing optional.** Closures may be taper-bored for thinner wall pipe or supplied with heavier bores than those listed. Note: Taper-bored closures
may result in decreased MAWPs. Consult the factory for conditions not listed.

Temperature Ratings
-20°F (-29°C) to 250°F (121°C)
Temperatures greater than 250°F and less than 500°F are possible with suitable O-ring material.
