DIDACTIC UNIT 2 1
SESSION LISTENING AND
1 SPEAKING

Do you ever feel like breaking down? Do you wanna be somebody else?
Do you ever feel out of place? Are you sick of feeling so left out?
Like somehow you just don't belong Are you desperate to find something more?
And no one understands you Before your life is over
Do you ever wanna run away? Are you stuck inside a world you hate?
Do you lock yourself in your room? Are you sick of everyone around?
With the radio on turned up so loud With their big fake smiles and stupid lies
That no one hears you screaming While deep inside you're bleeding

No you don't know what it's like No you don't know what it's like
When nothing feels all right When nothing feels all right
You don't know what it's like You don't know what it's like
To be like me To be like me

To be hurt (CHORUS)
To feel lost
To be left out in the dark No one ever lied straight to your face

To be kicked when you're down And no one ever stabbed you in the back

To feel like you've been pushed around You might think I'm happy but I'm not gonna be

To be on the edge of breaking down okay

And no one's there to save you Everybody always gave you what you wanted

No you don't know what it's like You never had to work it was always there

Welcome to my life You don't know what it's like, what it's like

(CHORUS 2x)

Welcome to my life (X2)

3 VOCABULARY

DIDACTIC UNIT 2 11
Walking down the street one morning, people stop and look in amazement at
two men falling down a hole. Why don’t they try to help? Well, actually, the men
aren’t real. They are part of an original painting by famous pavement artist,
Julian Beever. He is a British chalk artist. He travels around the world drawing
three-dimensional pavement pictures. Look at his pictures from another
direction and they seem very real. Look at the pictures in another direction and
you can’t understand what they are.
Julian can draw a pavement picture in three days but it isn’t easy. When he
draws a picture he also uses a camera to help him see the picture.
Unfortunately, his pictures didn’t stay on the pavement for a long time because
they can’t survive rain or snow. So he always takes pictures to keep a record of
them.
Remember, the next time you’re in London and passing by HMV or Harrods,
instead of window shopping, keep your eyes on the pavement!
