PRICING PREAMBLES
a) This Contract Document, consisting of Tender Specifications, Bill of Quantities and Tender
Drawings are the property of Exponent Engineers (Pvt.) Ltd and shall be returned on the date
of Tender submission even if the Contractor choses not to participate in the Tender. Any
reproduction or transmission of this Contract document without prior explicit approval of
Exponent Engineers (Pvt.) Ltd is illegal and may be subject to legal action
b) All pages of the BoQ and specifications shall be signed and stamped by the authorized
representative of the Contractor. Only the signed and stamped copy of the BoQ shall be
entertained and considered part of the Contract. A soft copy of the BoQ shall be provided to
facilitate the process of costing. Any change in the BoQ text from the original shall be
deemed as breech of contract and liable for penalty.
c) All items shall to be executed as per specifications, drawings, and as directed by the
Consultant/Engineer, and shall confirm to the latest edition of the IEEE wiring regulations.
Contractor shall test relevant installation to be witnessed by Electrical Consultant and or
Client representative and provide all relevant test reports.
d) Samples of all items including but not limited to shop drawings for DB's, raceways, back
boxes, outlets for switch sockets and voice/data, cables etc., shall to be got approved by the
Consultant / Engineer prior to installation.
e) Any item not meintioned herein but necessary for the completion of works to the
satisfaction of the owner/client shall be deemed to be part of the appropriate electrical
works. Details of such works shall be submitted for Consultant/Engineer's approval before
start of work.
f) All works related to active IT equipment, including but not limited to provision of PRI, ISDN,
POTS lines, installation and configuration of routers/switches etc., inter office /WAN
connectivity, internet / remote / radio link etc. are not covered under the scope of this
contract, unless specifically stated in the BoQ.
g) NoC for all electrical works shall shall be obtained from relavant authorities before project
handing over. Costs for obtaining approvals shall be quoted separately.
h) Quotations shall be based on the approved equipment list / supplier. Deviations, if any,
shall have to be got approved prior to installation works. Any discrepancy found shall be
rectified / replaced at the cost of the contractor.
i) Any conflict between the wiring standards and instructions as per drawings, specifications
or Consultant instructions shall be immediately brought to the notice of the Consultant for
appropriate consideration.
j) Vendor's recommendation, if different from that specified in BoQ/Specifications shall be

submitted for review and approval prior to equipment purchase.
k) Contractor cost shall be inclusive of all applicable Govt. taxes.

l) This BoQ is indicative of the item requirements and approximate quantieies. Final cost of
contract shall be determined upon verification of items and respective quantities installed on
site. No price escalation or quantity variations shall be entertained. Contractor shall carefully
review all drawings and develop his own quantity sheet and indicate any missing items in the
designated section of the BoQ with all relevant details.
m) All items quoted for aginst this Contract shall be new and of latest make /model. Any
outdated, obsolete or end-of-life products shall be replaced with alternate models from the
same manufacturer and gotten approved from the Client or his representative (Architect,
Consultant) during the bidding process. The Client or his representative shall have the right to
ask for replaceent of any item, with similar or better specification, which is found faulty or
substandard or is a subject of discrepancy not clarified during the bidding process.

LV SWITCHGEAR

interrupting capacities (Icu) as mentioned in the
drawings or more ( All circuit breakers will be having co-
ordination and selectivity properties for this system ) ,

dimensions to fit-in the location / space shown on
drawings. The contarctor shall take the dimensions of
the site, prepare the shop drawing of DB / Panel and

1. TELEPHONE SYSTEM
NOTES:
The Contractor shall provide cables, telephone junction
boxes and telephone instruments of 15 lines Intercom
System with 30% spare lines.
Proposed cable routes and places where telephone
connections are to be provided will be decided by the
Contractor.
The telephone cables shall have minimum 30% additional
pairs for future use/ replacement purposes.
Cables shall be laid in underground heavy gauge PVC
conduits, minimum dia 75 mm. Water tight cable draw-pits
shall be provided at convenient locations viz at bends and
entry to the building etc.
Vandal proof and weather proof Distribution Cabinets on
C.C pads shall be provided at appropriate locations.
1.01 Telephone Points on Wall

Wiring for each telephone point in M.S box on wall with 4
pair telephone cable Cat. 5e UTP from respective TJB's to
telephone point in and including cost of PVC conduit heavy
duty recessed in slabs, walls, columns or above false ceiling
or as required as per site conditions, including RJ45 Face
plate with back box, complete in all respects. Maximum 4
telephone cables each of 4 pairs can be pulled through
25mm dia PVC conduit.

Supply, Installation, testing and commissioning of TJB made
of 16 SWG sheet metal steel, Powder coated and having
hinge cover with lock including telephone cable patch
panels as per drawings suitable to make system operational

Engineer.

shall be practically measured at site by the Contractor,
duly authenticated by the employers electrical engineer
