In the late 1600’s there was an early introduction of trading, such as the triangular
trade. The triangular trade was a trading system that had different imports and
exports from different countries, like Great Britain, West Africa, and the West
Indies. All three of the countries traded different things like manufactured goods
tobacco, sugar, and potatoes, and introduced Africans and different diseases.
However the triangular trade used different forms of transportation which
impacted different countries, especially America.

Thesis - Respond to the prompt with a historically defensible thesis/claim 1 point

that establishes a line of reasoning

Some might argue that transportation innovation didn’t contribute to American

national unity. However, the innovation in transportation during the Market
Revolution linked Americas industries. Additionally regional sectors of the
economy became knitted together into one single economic entity. Innovation in
Transportation did contribute heavily to American national unity because of how
accessible when it came to trading and people could experience different lifestyles
in different places and make an impact on America.

Transportation innovations contributed to American national unity hugely because

it is very accessible when it came to commerce. The Steamboat delivered good up
and down stream. And increased e ciency of trade immensely. When John Quincy
Adams, discussed about internal improvements he mentioned other transportation
innovations from earlier establishments in Rome and how it had a positive impact
on their culture and since others have used it and it has worked well then it would
be a good idea to establish it in the U.S. This document was in John Quincy
Adams’s point of view who was president at the time. He was a federalist who
believed that the U.S should trade from other places not not just rely on agriculture.
