*Please be sure to read this.

This TSshield Terms of Use is executed between Topcon Corporation ("Topcon" or "we") and/or its affiliate(s)
("Affiliate(s)" or "Affiliated Company(ies)") and the individual or entity accepting its terms and conditions ("You",
"User" or "Customer")

Thank you for using our survey products (the "Products").

All Users of the Products may use the free and/or paid services using the telephone lines ("TSshield" or the "Ser-
vice(s)") offered by Topcon and its Affiliate(s).
Please be sure to understand that You are requested to make user-registration for use of the Service for each of
the Products and that the Product used for the Service includes the function to automatically collect various infor-
mation related to the Product which is necessary for provision of the Service.
By using the Service, You agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of the use of the Service provided herein
("Terms of Use"). Topcon reserves the right to suspend, cancel, terminate or delay the Service in the event that
you fail to comply with the Terms of Use.

1. "TS shield" (the "Service")


"TSshield" may include the following free and/or paid services necessary or useful for the use of the Product,
which are based on information collected from the Product and/or the User. The contents of the Service may
vary depending on the region, and may be, at Topcon's own discretion, added, changed or terminated without
prior notice. You acknowledge and warrant that you have read the user manual of TSshield (which is
available upon request to Topcon or distributor from whom you purchased the Products) before using
the Service in order to be fully informed regarding the content of the Services.
The Service comprises:
- Accessing the information of the Product
- Online upgrading
- Security lock by remote control
- Downloading the software for the Product (including program files and language files)
*The license of the software of the Product granted to You is non-exclusive, non-transferable and personal
license to use such software under the terms and conditions therefor. You may not sell, resell, rent, sub-license,
transfer or assign the software to a third party.
*The Services include paid ones. Where you would like to use such paid Services, please take the separate
contracting procedures by contacting the distributor from whom you purchased the Products and follow the pay-
ment terms thereof.
*For the companies engaging in the rental business:
When you lend the Product(s) which is completed to be registered for the User Registration, You undertakes
that Your borrowers acknowledge and agree to this Terms of Use.

2. User Registration and Privacy Policy


2.1 User Registration
Before using the Service, Customer has to make the user registration for each Product.

2.2 Personal Data.


In connection with the sale and provision of the Service and the User registration, Topcon may, from time to
time, obtain, maintain, process and use User's name, address, phone number, email address, login creden-
tials (user name, password), IP address, and technical, locational, usage and related information (herein after
"Personal Data"). Personal Data will be processed in accordance with this Terms of Use and Topcon's pri-
vacy policy as well as the following conditions. Topcon Corporation's privacy policy may be viewed at http://
www.topcon.co.jp/en/privacy/. For the processing of Personal Data subjected to the application of the GDPR
(EU privacy regulation), Topcon's privacy policy may be viewed at
https://www.topconpositioning.com/sites/default/files/20180719_-_eu_privacy_statement_.pdf.

2.3. Purpose of Using Personal Information.


Information will be used only for the purposes described in the applicable privacy policy and more specifi-
cally:
i. Providing the Services as well as a proper and smooth operation management of the Services;
ii. Providing registered Users with direct and indirect information communication, providing information pro-
cessing services, and advertising and holding campaign and other events (i.e. trade show) for promotion
of our Products and services;

iii. Advertising and marketing of our Products and services as well as providing and distributing brochures,
materials of Products;
iv. Providing questionnaires for improving the Services.

2.4. Information Shared with Business Partners.


Personal Data may be shared within the following entities ("Business Partners"):
i. Our Affiliated Companies - We have made sure that the entire Topcon Group respect the applicable pri-
vacy laws and only share your personal information within the Topcon Affiliated Companies if this is legiti-
mate, e.g. because there are necessary intra-group agreements in place or because it serves internal
administrative purposes in which case we will weigh up your conflicting interests in accordance with the
privacy laws.
ii. Third party service providers which have been thoroughly selected based on their compliance with the
privacy laws and only when to fulfill the services they provide to us, such as software, system, and plat-
form support; direct marketing services; cloud hosting services; advertising; data analytics; and order ful-
fillment and delivery. Our third-party service providers are not permitted to share or use personal
information we make available to them for any other purpose than to provide services to us. We have
entered into the necessary legal agreements with the third-party service providers in order to secure your
personal information.
iii. Business Partners - Topcon may share personal information with business partners in order to improve
your experience with Topcon and for Topcon's advertising and marketing purposes. Topcon may share
non-personal aggregate data about sales, customers, visitors to the site and related site information with
third parties. We have entered into the necessary legal agreements with our Business Partners in order to
secure your personal information.

2.5. Technical and Organizational Measures.


Topcon has implemented and will maintain and follow appropriate technical and organizational measures
intended to protect Personal Data against accidental, unauthorized or unlawful access, disclosure, divulga-
tion, damage, alteration, loss, or destruction of Personal Data. Notwithstanding the above, User is responsi-
ble for its secure use of the Service by yourself, including securing its account authentication credentials,
protecting the security of Personal Data when in transit to and from the Service and taking any appropriate
steps to securely encrypt or backup any Personal Data uploaded to the Service.

2.6. Security Incident


If Topcon becomes aware of any unlawful access to any Personal Data stored on Topcon equipment or in a
Topcon facility, or unauthorized access to such equipment or facilities resulting in loss, divulgation, or alter-
ation of Personal Data (each a "Security Incident"), Topcon will (I) promptly notify Customer of the Security
Incident (provided that such notification may be delayed as required by a law enforcement agency); and (II)
take reasonable steps to address any Security Incident and prevent any further Security Incident.

2.7. Warranty
User represents and warrants that it has the authority to provide the Personal Data to Topcon for processing
as contemplated by this Terms of Use. If any applicable law requires a data subject to receive notice of or to
provide consent to the processing and/or transfer of his/her Personal Data, Customer will provide such notice
to, and obtain such consent from the applicable data subjects.

2.8. Sub-Processor
Topcon may request third party sub-processors to process the Personal Data for the permitted purpose under
this Terms of Use provided that: (i) Topcon imposes data protection terms on any sub-processor it appoints
that require it to protect the Personal Data to the standard required by Applicable Privacy Laws; and (ii) Top-
con remains liable for any breach of this Section that is caused by an act, error or omission of its sub-proces-
sor. User may object to Topcon's appointment or replacement of a sub-processor, provided such objection is
based on reasonable grounds relating to data protection. In such event, Topcon will either not appoint or
replace the sub-processor or, if this is not possible, User may suspend or terminate this Terms of Use and the
Service (without prejudice to any Service fees incurred by Customer prior to suspension or termination.

2.9 Customer Instruction


Customer's complete and final instructions for processing Personal Data are regarded to be set out in this
Terms of Use. Processing Personal Data outside the scope of these instructions (if any) will require prior writ-
ten agreement between Customer and Topcon with additional instructions for processing.

3. Collection of Information related to the Product


3.1 Types of collected information
While the power of the Product is on, Product sends automatically the following information related to the
Product to the server controlled by Topcon (the "Function").
- Starting time/date

- Starting location (Position coordinates)
- Shut-down time/date
- Error information in the Product

3.2 Handling of information


Collected information related to your Product(s) will be treated as confidential information. Access to such
information is limited to Topcon and our Business Partners. You allow Topcon and our Business Partners
access and use to the collected information for the purpose of provision of the Service. Topcon reserves the
right to use the collected information for statistical purposes and for improving Service performance without
identifying specific customer information.

3.3 Deactivate of the Function


If you request, we can deactivate and, later, reactivate the Function. In such cases, please contact the distrib-
utor from whom you bought the Product.
*The Service will be unavailable to you while the Function is deactivated.

3.4 Precaution for assignment of the Product


If you assign the Product to other user, such user needs to register newly his/her information. In such a case,
please contact the distributor from whom you bought the Product.
Please be careful not to disclose your registration information or password to other user, otherwise such user
can access the information of your Product(s).

4. Intellectual Property Rights


All copyrights, patents, trademarks, trade secret, and other intellectual property rights in or to the Services and
any content contained therein is the exclusive property of Topcon and its licensors and third party providers
(where applicable), except as otherwise stated herein. You may not modify, copy, reproduce, distribute, trans-
mit, display, perform, frame, publish, license, create derivative works from, transfer, or otherwise use in any
other way, in whole or in part, any information, software, products or services obtained from the Service for any
purpose, except for the purposes expressly provided in the Terms of Use. If you copy or download any informa-
tion or software from the TSshield website, you agree that you will not remove or obscure any copyright or other
notices or legends contained in any such information or software.
The name and logo of Topcon, and the product names associated with the Service are trademarks of Topcon
and no right or license is granted to use them.

5. Disclaimer
Topcon (including its Affiliated Companies, Business Partners, licensor and third party provider (where applica-
ble; the same shall apply in this paragraph)) makes no warranty of satisfactory quality, reliability, availability,
accuracy or completeness of the Service or any content. Topcon does not warrant that Service is error free,
uninterrupted, free of viruses or other harmful components. The Service and all contents thereof is provided to
you on an "as-is" basis. All representations and warranties, whether express, implied, statutory or otherwise,
including, without limitation, any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-
infringement of third party rights, are hereby disclaimed to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law by
Topcon.

6. Limitation of Liability
Notwithstanding anything to the contrary herein, under no circumstances Topcon (including its Affiliated Com-
panies, Business Partners, licensor and third party provider (where applicable; the same shall apply in this
paragraph)), or their respective directors, officers, employees, affiliates, distributors or agents be liable to you or
any third party for any tort (including negligent), contract or any other liability arising in connection with the use
or unauthorized use of or inability to use the Service or any content thereof, including, without limitation, any
loss of profits, loss of data or other intangible losses, or any direct, indirect, special, consequential, incidental or
punitive damages whatsoever, even if Topcon has been advised of the possibility of such damages. In addition,
without limiting the foregoing, in all events the remedies available to you hereunder shall be limited to the equiv-
alent amount of monthly fees for 12 months which is calculated from the total amount actually paid by you, pro-
vided however that in the event that the claimed cause of action occurs within 12 months from the start date of
the Service, such limitation will be reduced in accordance with the actual number of months.

7. Fee and Term of this Service


Service Fees shall be the amounts described in the price list we provide separately to Customers. Please pay it
by the due date of the invoice Topcon or its Affiliates will send. Unless you notify Topcon or its Affiliates of non-
extension of the Service Term no later than five (5) working days prior to the end of the Service Term, the Ser-
vice Term shall be automatically extended and Topcon or its Affiliates will issue an invoice again. If you don't
pay the Service Fee by the due date of the invoice, the Service will terminate on the next day of the due date
without any prior notice to you. In this case, Topcon (including its Affiliated Companies, Business Partners,
licensor and third party provider) shall not be liable for any damages or loss incurred by you.

8. Export Regulation and Local Laws
The Service and the Product include parts, units, software or technologies which are subject to the Japanese
and U.S. export control regulations. Depending on a country where is the destination of export or re-export, the
export / re-export license by the Japanese and/or U.S. government authority may be needed. It is your sole
responsibility to comply with the applicable export control regulations, and take all necessary procedure to
obtain export / re-export licenses as may be needed. The regulated countries under U.S. export control regula-
tions are as follows as of March, 2019.: North Korea; Iran; Syria; Sudan and Cuba.
Since the regulated countries are subject to change, please check the website of Bureau of Industry and Secu-

There are some countries which prohibit from bringing out positional information from such countries (e.g.
China). If you bring the Product in such a country, it is necessary to deactivate the Function temporarily.
Regardless of deactivation of such Function, there are also some countries where bringing a device which has
such Function is subject to strict punishment. In the event that you bring the Product outside your company,
please verify by yourself the all necessary regulations.
If you request deactivation, please contact the distributor from whom you bought the Product.

9. Modification
Topcon reserves the right to modify the terms and conditions of the Terms of Use or its policies relating to the
Service at any time at its sole discretion, effective upon posting of an updated version of the Terms of Use and/
or other related policies on its website. You are responsible for regularly reviewing the Terms of Use and other
related policies. Your continued access to and use of the Service after any such modifications constitutes your
consent to such modifications.

10. Miscellaneous
The Terms of Use constitutes the entire agreement between you and us with respect to the Service and it
supersedes all prior or other communications, agreements and understandings between you and Topcon with
respect to the subject matter hereof. If for any reason any provision of the Terms of Use shall be invalid or unen-
forceable, that provision shall be enforced to the maximum extent permissible so as to affect the intent of the
Terms of Use, and the remainder of the Terms of Use shall continue to be valid and enforceable. No joint ven-
ture, partnership, employment, or agency relationship exists between you and Topcon as a result of the Terms
of Use or use of the Service. The Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed and enforced in accor-
dance with the laws of Japan, without application of the United Nations Convention on the International Sale of
Goods which is expressly excluded. Any dispute arising out of, or in connection with the Terms of Use or use of
the Services shall be exclusively brought to the district court in Tokyo, Japan.

• This instruction manual covers the operating method of functions provided in the TSshield Web site.
• For safety precautions and instructions for use of the instrument and how to operate other modes, refer to the
instruction manual of the your instrument.

• When you use the TSshield Web site, use the latest version of a browser supporting HTML5.0.
• If the old information remains on the browser in use, it may not be updated to the new information, causing the

• The user of this product is expected to follow all operating instructions and make periodic checks (hardware only)
of the product’s performance.
• The manufacturer, or its representatives, assumes no responsibility for results of faulty or intentional usage or
misuse including any direct, indirect, consequential damage, or loss of profits.
• The manufacturer, or its representatives, assumes no responsibility for consequential damage, or loss of profits
due to any natural disaster, (earthquake, storms, floods etc.), fire, accident, or an act of a third party and/or
usage under unusual conditions.
• The manufacturer, or its representatives, assumes no responsibility for any damage (change of data, loss of
data, loss of profits, an interruption of business etc.) caused by use of the product or an unusable product.

1.TSshield OVERVIEW
TSshield is a cloud-based information management service. It collects various information from your
instrument and provides you with a range of support to ensure you can use the instrument safely.
This allows us to send update information to you when the software embedded in your total station is
not up-to-date, and also allows you to see the various information about your instrument purchased via
your dedicated web site.


・ To use TSshield, it is necessary to create an account of TSshield and register the user’s instru-
ment.

・ Click (Help) on top of the screen to display a PDF file of "TSshield Instruction manual —How
to use Web service—" (this document).

2 .CREATION OF ACCOUNT AND USER REGISTRATION
To use an instrument you have purchased, it is necessary to release the demo mode of the instrument
after registering a user in TSshield.

2.1 Customer who signs up for the first time


Create a TSshield account and register users of the instrument when you use TSshield for the first time.


・ When you use the TSshield Web site, use the latest version of a browser supporting HTML5.0.
・ If you have an account already, you can register the newly purchased instrument with your
account.

1. Access the TSshield Web site


Access URL shown below.

Change the display language


・ When you use this web site, please be sure to read the disclaimer on the lower part of the screen.
・ You can change the displayed language while creating an account from "Language" in the lower
right of the screen.

2. Start the registration
Click [New Registration].

Check the displayed content. You can go to the next step by clicking [I ACCEPT THE AGREEMENT].

3. Input the e-mail address


Input the e-mail address and click [SEND].
We will send you an e-mail you input with a URL to confirm your registration. Please access the URL
described on the e-mail.


・ The information e-mail is sent from tsshield@tierraservice.com. Please make a configuration to
receive this e-mail if your e-mail has reception rejection.

7. Completion of registration
Customer ID and activation code will be displayed on the screen. At the same time, an e-mail on
which activation code is described will be sent.


・ At the lower part of the screen, a sample of character (number/alphabet) will be displayed. Com-
pare the mistakable characters with the sample.

Release the demo mode

This product is operated in demo mode until user registration is finished. The demo mode can be
released in two ways; by communicating instrument with server (online activation) and by filling activa-
tion code to the instrument you obtained (offline activation).


・ Perform the offline activation if the signal condition is not ideal to do it online.
・ The following operational procedures are shown based on a representative product with a display.
The procedures for instruments that have no display unit are different.
For details on the method for releasing the demo mode,  refer to TSshield instruction manual
for each product.

2.2 Instrument registration to u ser account (if you have an account)
If you have an account, you can log in to the system for a new instrument with the existing account.
According to the number of instruments to be registered, you can select individual registration for each
instrument or batch registration for multiple instruments using a file.

Create a file with the necessary information for user registration in tab-delimited texts. Create a file

4 .MANAGEMENT OF THE INSTRUMENT
TSshield shows the list of instruments you purchased and let you check the status and operating loca-
tion at the same time.
After login, all the instruments user registered are displayed. You can also input keywords to search
specific instruments and narrow down the search (filtering).


・ The information displayed on the list is shown below.
Basic information (model name, serial number, etc.)
For security settings: "5. SETTING SECURITY FUNCTION"
For position of instrument: "4.2.Checking the locations of the instruments"
Alarm (Make a notification when there is a security failure on instruments and if there is

Click an icon of the instrument to display the detailed information. If you click [x], the display is
closed.


・ If there is more than one instrument at the same location, the number of instruments may be dis-
played on the icon. In that case, click the icon to enlarge the location. If you click the icon of instru-
ments, you can select instruments individually.

・ If there are multiple instruments on a single location, they will be displayed with blue icons.

Checking the locations of the instruments

You can check the locations of the instruments on the map that you select from the list and side
panel.

You can check the software version and updates of the instruments you select from the list.

Click [ ] and select [Latest FW] or [Outdated FW] to display the <Version> window.


・ If there is update information on the firmware, [Outdated FW] will be shown.
When you select [Current] tab in the [Version] window, you can check the latest version and respec-
tive versions of each software installed.


・ The software for which the latest version is prepared is displayed in red.

4.4 C h e c k i n g t h e h e a l t h s ta t u s o f t h e i n s t r u m e n ts
TSshield analyzes collected error reports to assess the health status of the instruments.


・ [Health status] analysis is a function for paid services. Please contact your local dealer to use this
function.


・ TSshield shows the health status based on error reports stored in the instrument, but it does not
necessarily show the accurate status of the instrument.
・ The health status is assessed based on cumulative error reports after your subscription date.

The color of indicator light shown on the instrument list indicates the status of its health.

・ You can check the number of instruments with each health status from (Status) on the top
right.

・ Marks will be displayed on if a warning or error occurs. A number shown on the mark is the
number of unread warnings and errors.

instrument. If an error occurs, the solutions will be displayed .

・ You can switch the display between [Summary] and [Details] as required.
Details show the error history occurred in the past.

・ Click [RESET] to reset the health status and change indicator back to [ ● : Good]. At this time, a
note you took during the above process can be stored as a memo. This memo can be shared with
the dealer where you purchased the instrument.
You can confirm the reset history from [Details] in Health status.

2. Download data
Data can be saved as the selected file format. From , select file format (.PDF/.XLSX/.CSV), then
follow the instructions on the screen to save the file.

4.5 Checking other information

Click [ ] and select [Other] to display related information of the instrument you chose from the list.

Click [DISPLAY] of [Cloud OAF] to show the status of optional functions.

Click [DOWNLOAD] to start downloading offline update files for Cloud OAF.

About Cloud OAF:  the operating instructions of each product "Cloud OAF."


・ Cloud OAF can be used on instruments that support cloud OAF.

5.SETTING SECURITY FUNCTION
5.1 Changing the security mode of instrument
TSshield has security functions: LOCK and CHASING modes.

・ In LOCK mode, it is possible to lock the instrument which is mislaid or lost by remote control on its
web site. It prevents the instrument to be used without the owner's permission.
・ In CHASING mode, the interval for updating the locational information of the instruments displayed
on the dashboard gets short. You can comprehend the location of the instrument when you have it
stolen.
・ Set [NORMAL] when you don't use security function.

The list shows all security modes set for each instrument.

Click the display part and select security mode from the drop-down list.

Settings are completed when the following message appears.


・You can't choose except for LOCK mode and CHASING mode if you subscribe to the charged
service.

Select [LOCK] mode from the drop-down list.


・ The instrument is locked when it is connected to the server for

CHASING mode

Select [CHASING] mode from the drop-down list.


・ Locational information of the instrument is renewed as follows:
Normal mode : 24 hours
Chasing mode : 1 hour


・When you set the chasing mode, the instrument has a short battery life, compared with the nor-
mal mode.
・The communication of instrument to upgrade the locational information is carried out when the
instrument power is ON.

Select [NORMAL] mode from the drop-down list.


・ If you reboot the instrument after setting the instrument to NORMAL mode, it will go back to the
NORMAL mode.

5.2 Managing the instrument by area (Geofence)


When the instrument detects that it has been taken out and brought in the area you specified on the
map, an alarm mark is displayed on the instrument list to give you notice. You can also lock the instru-
ment automatically or send a alert e-mail.


・ "Geofence" is a function for charged service. Please contact your local dealer to use this function.


・ Depending on the performance of the built-in GPS receiver in the instrument and the operating
environment, there may be the occurrence of errors in the acquired locational information.
Therefore, your decision based on the setting conditions may not be necessarily accurate.
・ In the event of a failure or communication failure of the TSshield server, the configured mail
alarm may not be delivered or may be delivered unintentionally.

Creating Geofence

1. Create Geofence
Select [GEOFENCE] from the menu on the left and click [ADD GEOFENCE].

(1) Display a point to create the fence on the map.

(2) Click on the map to create an area to monitor.

(1) Input the Geofence name.

following conditions occur: The instrument enters into or exits from the fence; enters into the
fence; or exits from the fence.

(3) If you check [Auto LOCK] box, the instrument will be automatically locked when the instrument is
deviated from the setting condition.
* You can't check if you set [enter into and exit from].
To deactivate the locked instrument:  "5.1 Changing the security mode of instrument"

(4) Check [Receive e-mail notifications.] box to send warning e-mails to the address that you
entered in advance. Punctuate e-mail address with (,) to send to multiple addresses.


・ You can enter email addresses when you check the box.

Select instruments to apply the Geofence. You can extract from the search window on top of the win-
dow.

・ Check [Select/deselect all] box to select all and deselect all.

5. Save the settings


Click [SAVE] to save the settings and go back the list of the Geofence.

You can edit, duplicate, or delete the created Geofence in the list.

When the instrument detects that it has been used on other dates than the preset dates, an alarm mark is
displayed on the list to give you notice. You can also lock the instrument automatically or send an alert e-

・ The time used to make a conditional judgment may be lost due to failure of GPS satellites and
instrument. Therefore, your decision based on the setting conditions may not be necessarily accu-
rate.
・ In the event of a failure or communication failure of the TSshield server, the configured mail
alarm may not be delivered or may be delivered unintentionally.

Creating Timefence

1. Create Timefence
Select [Timefence] from the menu on the left and click [ADD TIMEFENCE].

2. Create a schedule

(1) Input the Timefence name.

(2) Select time zone (standard time zone) from the area name of the Timefence.

(3) Input the term of validity for the Timefence.


Click [from to] to set the term of validity for the Timefence.
Set up the [start date] and [end date]. Click [start date] and/or [end date] and select the date from
the displayed calendar.
Click [No term of validity] if you don't want to create the term of validity.

(4) Set up a weekly schedule.
If you click the day of the week to set up the schedule, the day will be highlighted to blue.
Click [from-to] and enter the period of time to set up a period of time to monitor.

* The period of time must be the same to set up multiple days of the week.

Select [24 hr.] to monitor the instrument throughout the day.

Click [NEW SCHEDULE] to add a schedule on the day of the week that is unoccupied.
The configured day will be highlighted to gray and cannot be selected.

3. Set search conditions

(1) Set the notification timing. In the event of the following conditions, a notification email will be sent
to the e-mail address you entered in advance:
If the instrument is used within/beyond the period of time.

(2) The instrument will be automatically locked when the instrument deviated from the condition if

6.1 Dashboard
Select [DASHBOARD] from the left-hand side menu. Check the status of the maintenance plan.

・ Click the symbol to show the subject you would like to display.
・ Click the bar of the graph to check the detail.

・ Click [ ] and/or [ ] to change the period of the displayed graph.

・ Graph
● Overdue: Display the total number of instruments for which the maintenance plans have
passed the period at the month. As the number is not the remaining number of
instruments, it does not decrease even if [Completed] is selected. (E.g.: Results
of each month will be displayed such that the number of instruments which
exceeded the period is 23 in March, 17 in April, etc.)
● Expiring soon: Display the number of instruments for which the maintenance plans are currently
before the period expiration, and approaching their period expirations within the
month. (E.g.: If there are currently 10 instruments which are "before the period
expiration" on the plan screen, it will be displayed that 6 instruments in May, 2
instruments in June, and 2 instruments in July will approach the period expiration.)
● Completed: The number of instruments which have selected [Completed] in the month

6.2 Adding maintenance plans


・ You can add maintenance plan up to 1,000. Delete plans you don't need if you can't create a new
one.

1. Add maintenance plans


Select [PLANS] from the menu on the left and click [ADD MAINTENANCE].

2. Set up the content of the maintenance plan

(1) Input the name of the maintenance plan.

(2) Set up the [Due date] of the plan.


Click [Due date] and select the date from the displayed calendar.

(3) Set up auto-update.


Click [Autocycle ON] to enable auto-update.
The plan won't be updated unless you select it.

(4) Set up the maintenance cycle.


1 to 36 months (monthly basis)

(5) Set up the notification of the maintenance season.


Select [advance notification] to set up the time to send the notification: 1 to 31 days before
Set [Set the time of notification] to set the time when a notice is sent. (Default value 12:00)

(6) Select [Insert text] to enter the text of the outgoing e-mail.

(7) You can enter the content of the maintenance that will be performed in [Note]. The entered text
will be shown on the list of the maintenance plan, which makes management easy.

(8) You can set up how to send the message in the [Notification].
Select [To instrument] to send the message to the designated instrument.
Select [To instrument owner] to send an e-mail to the registered user's e-mail address.
Select [Notify to the following email] to send an e-mail to the inserted address in the window.
Punctuate e-mail address with (,) to send to multiple addresses.


・ Click [PREVIEW] to show the contents of the notification.

3. Select instruments
Select instruments to send a maintenance plan. You can extract these instruments from the search
window on top of the window.

・ Check [Select/deselect all] to select all or deselect all.

4. Save the settings


Click [SAVE] to save the contents of the setting.

・ Go back to the list of the created maintenance plan.

6.3 Management of the maintenance plans


You can edit, duplicate, or delete the created maintenance plan in the list.

・ The number of instruments registered in the plan will be shown by its status.
● : Upcoming ● : Expiring soon ● : Overdue ● : plan that stopped charged service
・ A pie chart tells you the status of instruments by color. The plan that stopped charged service is not
included in the chart.

・ The note inserted when the plan was created will be shown.

Edit: Re-edit the maintenance plan.


Duplicate: Duplicate the created maintenance plan and create a new one.
Delete: Delete the maintenance plan.
Click [OPEN DETAIL] to display instrument registered within the maintenance plan.

Click [Done] to complete the maintenance. You can make a configuration to continue the plan as
required.

Click [Edit] to change the date of the maintenance completion and information notes.

Click [Go to instrument] to show the list of the instrument.


Click [Delete] to delete the selected instrument from the plan.

6.4 Complete the maintenance plan


Record the completed maintenance of the instrument to plans. You can also set up the content of the
plan when you auto updates it.

1. Start completing the maintenance plan as completed


Display the detail of the plan and click [Done].

(1) Input the completion date of the maintenance. Click the input area of [The maintenance has
been completed on] and select the date from the displayed calendar.

(2) You can insert the content of operation in the [Notes].

(3) If you enable auto-update setting when you create the plan, the next completion date of the
maintenance is displayed and continued based on contents you set up in advance. You can
change this manually.

You can insert the content of the next operation in the [Memo].

Uncheck [Continue] if you do not want to continue the plan.

3. Save the settings


Click [MAINTENANCE DONE] to move the processed instrument to the [Completed] tab and
managed. if you continue the plan, the plan is added to the instrument by the new due date

7.SENDING MESSAGES
You can send created messages to instruments and designated e-mail addresses.


・ "Messages" is a function for charged service. Please contact your local dealer to use this function.
・ You can create the message up to 1000.
・ To read the message with the instrument received, refer to TSshield instruction manual for each
product.


・In the event of a failure or communication failure of the TSshield server, the configured mail
alarm may not be delivered or may be delivered unintentionally.

Creating a message

1. Create a message
Select [Messages] from the menu on the left and click [ADD MESSAGE].

2. Set up the content of the message

(1) Input the message name.

(2) Input the text of the message the field.

(3) Check [Send on ... at ...] to send the message at the designated date.

(4) You can set up how to send the message in the [Notification type].
Check [Notify to the following email] box to send an e-mail to the address entered in the field.
Punctuate e-mail address with (,) to send to multiple addresses.
Select [To instrument] to send the message to the designated instrument.
Select [To instrument owner] to send an e-mail to the registered user's e-mail address.

3. Select instruments
Select instrument(s) to send a message(s). You can extract from the search window on top of the
window.

・ Check [Select/deselect all] to select all and deselect all.

4. Save the settings
Click [SAVE].

・ Click [SEND] to send the message based on the configured contents.


・ Click [SAVE AS DRAFT] to save the message and settings as a draft. It will be listed as [Inactive] in
the message.
・ Click [CANCEL] to go back to the previous screen.

Managing the message

You can edit, duplicate, or delete the created message in the list.

The sent messages can be confirmed from the [Sent Items] tab.

・ Upon error, click (Retry) to re-send the message.
・ Changing attentions or contents of a message should be performed after switching a message to
inactive. However, if a part of multiple attention settings for a notice has been successfully sent, a
message cannot be switched to inactive. In that case, copy a message and create a new message
again.

You can confirm working hours, locational information, and maintenance history.

8.1 Checking the working hours

Working hours

The working hours for selected instruments can be checked on a monthly or daily basis in a calendar
form. The total working hours can be displayed by selecting multiple instruments.

1. Select a report(s).
Select [WORKING HISTORY] from the left-hand side menu.

2. Select instruments
Select an instrument to display the working hours from the side panel. You can select multiple instru-
ments.

・ The selected instruments will be highlighted to blue.


・ Select the highlighted instruments again to de-select.


・ Click the side panel display button [<] and/or [>] to show/hide the side panel accordingly.

3. Check the working hours


Click [<] and/or [>] on top of the calendar to select years and months to display the working hours.

Color of the calendar


Gray: no operation
Blue: The color gets darker as the working hours gets longer. (24 steps)

・ On the right side of the calendar, the working hours of the month are displayed as a graph.
・ Hover the cursor on the date to display the graph of the working hours.
・ Click the date to display a period of time that the instrument is operating.

4. Download data
Data can be saved by the selected file format. Click and select file format (.PDF/.XLSX/.CSV)
then follow the instructions on the screen to save the file.


・ In case if the PDF viewer starts, save the displayed PDF as a file.

Working hours (specified period)

The working hours for selected instruments can be checked in a specified period.


・ The data can be displayed for the past 12 months at the maximum.

1. Select a report(s).
Select [Working History (Period)] from the left menu.

Select an instrument(s) to display the working hours from the side panel. You can select multiple
instruments (Up to 5).

・ The selected instruments will be highlighted to blue.

3. Set a period of time


Click the start date. Click a calendar to set the start date. And then, set the end date ( : Start
date, : End date). Select the year and month to display the working hours using [<] or [>] on the
top of the calendar.

4. Check the working hours
Display a graph and list for the working hours within the specified period.

・ Hover the cursor on any point of the graph to display the working hours of the day.
・ Select the other instrument to display its working hours in the same period.

5. Download data
Data will be saved by the selected file format. Click and select file format (.PDF/.XLSX/.CSV)
then follow the instructions on the screen to save the file.


・ In case if the PDF viewer starts, save the displayed PDF as a file.

8.2 Checking the history of the locational information
You can check the history of location information for the selected instruments.

1. Select a report.
Select [POSITION HISTORY] from the left side menu.

2. Select a instrument(s)
Select a instrument(s) to show the locational information from the side panel. The selected instru-
ment(s) will be highlighted to blue.


・ Click the side panel display button [<] and/or [>] to show/hide the side panel accordingly.
・ Instruments that could not obtain locational information can be displayed with gray.

tional information will be displayed on the lower left. Click [<] and/or [>] to change locational informa-

・ Click " " to link the consecutive locational information with lines. This will make you easier to

10.1 Confirming the registered information
Registered information can be confirmed and changed in the profile menu.

1. Display the configuration screen to confirm and change


Click (Profile) on the top right corner and select an item you wish to change.

The registered information is displayed.


・ Click [License] to display the open source software license information used in this service.
・ Click [Version] to display the TSshield version.

Click (Profile) and select [Edit user].

You can change the information you filled when you created a Topcon account.
You can also change environmental settings such as time zone and display format of date and time.


・ Display language of TSshield web site can be changed from [Language].
・ Click [TSSHIELD] in the lower right of the screen to log out and change password.

2. Change the contents of registration
Make necessary changes to the information and press [SAVE].
The information will be updated next time you log in.


・ If you shift to other screen without pressing [SAVE], the changed content will be cancelled.

Change password

You can change the password to log in with the following procedures when you forget it.

1. Display <Password Recovery>


Click [Forgot your password?] on the Login screen.

2. Input registration information


Check either [E-Mail] or [User code (Customer Code)]. Then enter the registration information of
checked item.

Press [OK] to send a generated code to a registered address.


・ Your customer code is in the registration confirmation mail sent to you when you registered.
・ The e-mail with a confirmation code is sent from tsshield@tierraservice.com. Please make a con-
figuration to receive this e-mail if your e-mail has reception rejection setting.
・ If you already have a verification code, click the link "If you have the verification code, please click
this link." and proceed to step 3.

3. Set the password
Enter the verification code contained in the e-mail, and enter a new password. Then enter the new
password once again, and press [OK].

Enter the new password to log in on the Login screen.


・ If you have got some verification codes, use the latest code.
・ For strings that you can use as your password:  " Password"
