Activity: Anti-Bullying Drama Workshop 

  
Putting oneself in another’s place in a particular situation is an effective way of exploring important issues and creating a forum for
discussion. 

1.     Divide your group into smaller groups and hand out role-play scenarios.

2.     Allow each group 5 minutes to discuss what they would do or say in that scenario and prepare a short improvisation, showing the
negative scenario.

3.     The groups act out the scene.

4.     The other groups all point out what behavior was shown, discuss how as teachers they can address these issues, and how the
victims should deal with the situation.

Verbal bullying-Name calling bully/bullies and victim or victims.

You are a bunch of popular kids and a bunch of ‘nerds’ want to sit at the same lunch table as you.  You will call them names so that
they won’t think they deserve to sit with you. 

Cyber bully- Texting bully/bullies and victim or victims. 

- torment, threaten, harass, humiliate, embarrass or otherwise target another child, preteen or teen using the Internet, interactive and
digital technologies or mobile phones

You are a popular kid and you have a big dance coming up.  You and your friends play a prank on unpopular kids by pretending you
will go out with them to the dance, then have your friends text them insults.

Physical- Physically abusive bully/bullies and victim or victims. 

- Hitting, kicking, or pushing someone, or even just threatening to do it
- Stealing, hiding or ruining someone's things
- Making someone do things he or she doesn’t want to do

You are a sports team and this is your hazing initiation.  You tell the new teammates that they have to let you (the team) shove them
in a trashcan and be rolled downhill in it, or they are not part of the team.

Several of you want to be Prom King/Queen, you will try to make the other students vote for you by spreading rumors about your
competitor.  

Characters:
Bullier: Bao, Tai,Duong(making a video of school violence->post on tiktok)
Teacher: Thi
Victim: Kim Ngan, Quan.
Mother of Bao: Nhien.
Plot: Quan is the best student in class 8A, he was bullied by a group of students: Tai &Bao. Kim Ngan is
a transfer student and she can’t accept the behavior of Tai and Bao. She told them to stop being
crazy, but Bao get mad and Ngan become a victim.*rend the books, insult on the Internet,..* She was
depressed (the marks getting worse). Her teacher realize and ask her, but she doesn’t tell. Teacher
decide to look up at Ngan and see Bao and Tai are robbing Ngan’s money. Bao’s mother was at
school, apologize and indemnify Ngan. Tai and Bao say sorry to Quan and promised… Teacher read
the slogan.

Speech:
Teacher(Thi): Good morning class! How are you today?
Everyone: Good morning teacher. We’re fine, thank you.
Teacher(Thi): Today our class have a new student.(noisy) Come here, Ngan, let’s introduce yourself.
Ngan: Hi guys, I’m Huynh Kim Ngan. Nice to meet you. Hope we could cooperate well in each other!
Teacher: Ok, we are class 8A. Oh,… You can sit next to Quan.
(Ngan comes to the seat)
Duong (talk to Bao and Tai): Such a pretty girl.
Teacher: OK, let’s start the lesson.
--------------Scene 2(Ngan making friend. Quan is the first)-------------------
(at the canteen)
Ngan: Hello Quan. Nice to meet you!
Quan: Nice to meet you to.(looking around) Ngan,I can’t stay there because Tai and Bao can capture
me. Sorry.( runs away and dashes)
Duong: Hey you Quan, you look so tired today. Come here...(Quan comes)
Tai: The teacher told me to clean the toilet. Ha, you know, I really hate it.(give Quan a broom).
Can you help me?
Quan: O...OK...
Bao: I’m so hungry. Give me 10 dollars, hurry up. Or we will hit you.
Quan(scares):Here... Here you are...
Ngan:OMG, what are you doing? It’s so bad. Repay him, or I will tell to teacher.
Duong: Ahhh... Are you crazy, lady? Are you threadtening us?
Tai and Bao:(point to Ngan’s face): Try to protect Quan. You will regret soon.
....(Ngan says no... The group start hitting Quan, Ngan runs to the teacher, but Duong doesn’t let her
going).....
Storyteller: Ngan becomes a victim of school violence. Everyday she must give the group 5$.
Sometimes the group hit her, kick her... Ngan was scaring and the marks were getting worse.)

Teacher: How are you, Ngan. This time you seem too tired.
Ngan: Thanks for caring me. All is OK.
Teacher: Good. Why are your marks getting worse? Some teachers complained me that you are
sleeping all the period.
Ngan: Sorry teacher. I promised I won’t sleep anymore. Goodbye teacher.

-------------------------Scene 4(teacher see the group fighting)-------------------

Duong: Hey Ngan. Where is my money?
Tai and Bao: hurry up, bitch.
Ngan: So...sorry... Today I don’t have money. Can it be tomorrow?
Duong: Are you kidding me? Hey boy, rummage her bag. I don’t believe her.
(Tai and Bao rummage, but no mone... The group start hitting Ngan).
