Cognates are words in two languages that
share a similar meaning, spelling, and
pronunciation.
Examples:
Anniversary — Aniversaire
Restaurante — Restaurant
A word in one language that is similar in
form or sound to a word in another
language but has a different meaning; a
false friend.
Examples:
Embarrassed — Embarazada
Avergonzado — Pregnant
