The Girl Scout of the Philippines-Cadiz City Division held a 3-day virtual capacity building webinar for 68 elementary and secondary schools to strengthen skills of troop leaders. Over the 3 days, topics included basic troop management, leadership training, challenges in various areas like family life and the environment. The final day consisted of workshops, presentations, and critiques led by Girl Scout representatives. The goal was to develop collaboration and professionalism to strengthen the scouting movement.

Capacity Building: Strengthening the Scouting Movement

March 25-27, 2021̶̶ ̶ The Girl Scout of the Philippines-Cadiz City Division spearheaded a 3-day Division Virtual Capacity Building for Citizenship and Development via Microsoft Teams. The webinar was participated by the Twinklers, Stars, Juniors, Seniors, and Cadet Troop Leaders of 68 elementary and secondary schools in the division. This webinar is carried out with the purpose of strengthening the skills and competencies of girl scout troop leaders, develop collaboration, professionalism, and growth among and between troop leaders and coordinators to achieve the best results in the whole scouting movement. The first day of the webinar kicked off with an opening program followed by the session proper with the topics The Girl Scout Program and Basic of Troop Management by Tita Charity Huyatid, Adult Leadership Training by Tita Roxanne Anoche, Challenge of Family Life by Tita Ma. Sufia Depositario and Tita Fatima Sarabia, Challenge of Economic Sufficiency by Tita Hajj Bornales and Tita Ellamae Condor, Challenge of Environment by Tita Arlene Ditangco and Tita Cherelyn Pomen, Challenge of Spirituality and Well-being by Tita Gemma Dolorosa and Tita Merrisol Cayapado. The day-2 covered the topics Challenge of Preparedness by Tita Neckle Marie Escala and Tita Ofelia Pamati-an, Challenge of Heritage and Citizenship by Tita Virginia Emboltorio and Tita Cornalina Francisco, Challenge of the Arts by Tita Christiany Joy S. Lazaro and Tita Dee Barreto, Challenge of World Community by Tita Marjorie Verdeflor and Tita Marly Abejero. During the last day of the webinar, a workshop, presentation of outputs, and work critiquing were conducted by Tita Virginia Emboltorio, Tita Roxanne Anoche, Tita Lilandy Banera, and GSP-Negros Occidental Council representatives Tita Jezha Guzon and Tita Luz Bitalac. The training concluded with a closing program and next step planning by Tita Roxanne Anoche. The moderators of the 3-day webinar were Tita Dulia Almodiel, Tita Hennie Salcedo, Tita Josefa Benitez, Tita Rhodora Escaro, Tita Shella Mae Berja, and Tita Diana Criz Laurio. The after-sessions were spent on open forums and post evaluations.
