Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy affect up

to 10% of pregnancies worldwide, which
includes the 4% of all pregnancies
complicated by preeclampsia, and are a major
cause of maternal mortality and morbidity,
preterm birth, perinatal death, and intrauterine
growth restriction.

The symposium's aim is to give early-career

researchers an opportunity to showcase their

placental research and pregnancy
complications, will share their expertise by giving plenary talks and participate in the
discussion groups.

Section 1: Next generation models and diagnostics of Preeclampsia and IUGR
