CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

Self-Directed Learning Activities Plan
Nurturing Babies & Toddlers Module
Students are required to have a minimum of 20 scheduled course contact hours per week, 1/3 of these can be
directed distance education or online study. The twenty hours are scheduled as:
 14 hours a week for classroom learning (140 hours per term) and
 6 hours a week (50 hours per term) to engage in self-paced distance study.

In addition, students are required to undertake 10 hours of self-directed review, reflection and learning a week
(100 hours a term).

This plan is to provide you a weekly outline to undertake self-directed learning to review and revise the material
covered during the week to reinforce learning and prepare for follow up sessions. The plan recommends study
time with suggested reading, activities and preparation for each upcoming week. Please note the hour allocated
is a recommendation and time may varies depending on students’ learning style and needs.

Your trainer will monitor your progress with the plan in classroom sessions as the basis for any additional group
discussion.

This plan complements the Self-paced Distance learning and Assessment Plan.

These suggested activities and time allocations are a guide only.
