Microsoft Excel Pivot table data

This methods is used for simple and easier data analyze. A pivot table is a statistics tool
that summarizes and reorganizes selected columns and rows of data in a spreadsheet or
database table to obtain a desired report. The tool does not actually change
the spreadsheet or database itself, it simply “pivots” or turns the data to view it from
different perspectives.

Why would you use a pivot table?

Because pivot tables summarize data, they can be used to find unique values in a
field. This is a good way to quickly see all the values that appear in a field and
also find typos, and other inconsistencies.

How create a pivot table ?

To create a PivotTable:

Select the table or cells (including column headers) containing the data you want to
use. From the Insert tab, click the PivotTable command. The Create PivotTable dialog
box will appear. Choose your settings, then click OK.

Simply defined, a Pivot Table is a tool built into Excel that allows you to summarize
large quantities of data quickly and easily. Given an input table with tens, hundreds, or
even thousands of rows, Pivot Tables allow you to extract answers to a series of basic
questions about your data with minimal effort.
