a. Why is the Philippines considered a multilingual nation?

Philippines is considered a multilingual nation due to the fact that Filipinos are very

enthusiastic when it comes in learning a new language. As we grow up we are studying

in school to learn a Basic English language as a second language. It is the reason why

Filipinos are great speakers when it comes in communicating anywhere in the world. As

what I’ve known American’s are very impress to all the Filipinos who are truly can

deliver and understand English. That is why Filipinos has a fundamental capability in

delivering an ordinary conversational English. As a Filipino, we can actually answer to

English speakers in a straight and clear and understandable message to them. On the

other hand, Philippines is considered a multilingual nation due to its knowledge of all

individual that are living here in the Philippines wherein many of the Filipinos can speak

2 – 3 languages. Of course, Tagalog is the common language of the Filipino wherein

many of us, it is the language that we use in everyday life. Another thing is that Filipinos

has so many dialects wherein it is the language that they use in the specific place which

they can understand and communicate well by that language.
