1 Course Objectives:
The objective of this course is to equip the students with a comprehensive knowledge of the
Intellectual Property Rights, Foreign exchange management laws of India and international
dispute resolution on commercial and mercantile transactions and the global regulatory
instruments.
2 Prerequisites:
Students are expected to have primary/elementary knowledge about different aspects of
Intellectual property rights, Foreign exchange regulation and management laws, International
economic institutions.
3 Course Learning Outcomes:
The student will be able to -
Have better understanding of Intellectual property rights and the concepts related
thereto.
Analyze the law relating to Patents, Trademarks and Copyrights.
Apply and implement the provisions of IP to the practical cases and situations.
Critically evaluate the legislations as to their applicability in the commercial world.
Trademarks Act 1999 & new Trademark Rules of 2017: registration; infringement &
remedies; other related matters.
Copyright Act 1957: general provisions; rights & remedies, leading cases
FERA & FEMA Act of India: objects, general provisions & leading cases;
