Yoon Kim
Background information
I am Yoon Shik Kim and am currently
attending at an international school in
Seoul. I dreamt of becoming a doctor
since I was 5 years old. The TV channels
my parents encouraged to me to watch
were about animals and the world. There
were few things in common about what
was going around in the world and what
was going around in the animal world:
both needed help from a doctor. Since I
loved to watch documentary videos about
animals, most of them depicted scenes
from Africa. And amongst the scenes in
the videos, I often encountered many
Africans who were in dire need of medical
care. I have lived in Africa for two and a
half years. Although I was too young to
remember, by looking at the pictures and
by hearing stories from my mother, I knew
that not everywhere was as peaceful as
Seoul. When discussing about animals
and poor people around the world with my
grandfather, he encouraged me to become
a doctor, and he promised he would help
me go through any challenges. My goal
since then has been to help poor people
by learning about medicine. This career
plan will help me reach my goal because it
will constantly remind me of my
grandfather's full support.
Dream University
I dreamt of going to the best medical
school; however, recently, I was
consumed by business and economic
realm. I gave my full attention to creating

my own business yet becoming a doctor.
Why can't I work as a doctor and create
my own business? Since not a lot of
colleges offer premed, I would like to go to
colleges and learn about economics and
business. I would like to study premed for
my major, yet I want to study for business
as my minor. 
Initial Job: I have been interning at a bank
and at a food company as a biochemist. I
would, however, want to learn more about
businesses; therefore, I would like to intern
at either Starbucks or Samsung. My ideal
job position is the CEO of a company,
however, I would like to learn by managing
businesses. 
Future Positions
For my future goal, I would like to work at
a hospital; however, when I earn enough
money, I would like to open up my own
hospital. I would like to get a job at a huge
company as a business manager too.
When I learn enough so I can manage my
own business, I hope to be a company
owner. I want to have both jobs, as a
doctor and as a company CEO. 
Preparing for Career
I would like to hold my position as the
doctor who owns his own hospital and a
CEO of a company. Although I would have
to work really hard to achieve this goal,
this is my ultimate dream. If this comes
true, I won't be worried about my
retirement. As I grow older, however, I will
quit my job as a doctor to focus on
expanding my company.
