EVALUATION/ACTIVITY
1. In not more than five sentences. Give two reasons why Antonio
Pigafetta’s Chronicle of the First Voyage Around the World is
important to the grand narrative of Philippine history (5 points)
- The first voyage around the world is important to the grand narrative of
Philippine history as it provides for an accurate story of what happened in
the history that partakes in Pigefetta’s accompaniment with Ferdinand
Magellan. It is important since Pigafetta’s travelogue is one of the
primary sources in the study of the pre-colonial Philippines. Also because
a significant contribution to the events leading to the arrival of Magellan
in the Philippines has brought different culture that we have until today.
The religion and proofs of bravery of Lapu Lapu with other Filipinos that
have been a good example up until today can inspire the future to do
something for the country. This can be also a reference that Filipinos
don’t let other nationalities rob them of things from their very own
country.
2. In not more than eight sentences. Select two from fourteen points
(14) points presented in the Kartilya ng Katipunan and explain
their significance in maintaining a peaceful and orderly
community.
 Whether our skin is white or black, we are all born equal: superiority in
knowledge, wealth, and beauty are to be understood, but not superiority
by nature.
- Meaning to say, we should not judge people because of their color
and that we must remember that we are made equally by God and
no one is more superior to the other. However, the judgment and
segregation of color are still present up until today. This judgment
should be corrected and to understand that in a nation people
should not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content
of their character.

 Do not waste thy time: wealth can be regained but not time lost.
- A peaceful and orderly community can be regained when one knows
to manage time. All time management begins from planning, so if
you have a dream or ambition that you wanted to achieve in a
certain period of time you must plan it, so that time won’t be
wasted. An achieved dream makes a happy life and by that we can
be able to contribute to our society. And if we can be able to use
our time at the fullest that is when we can be able to share and
make other people understand the true value of time. Time is
something important that you cannot be able to return.
