Eportfolio and Signature Assignment

1. The connections I have had from what I have studied in this Life Wellness course with
what I have learned from my other courses what that in order to accomplish something
and be proud, you have to partly be proud of yourself. One’s motivation and confidence
in what they do shows in their work. If it isn’t confidence, it is the fact that the student
actually tried their best. This class showed me that it wasn’t about keeping up, doing the
same, or being better than others – it was the fact that we need to focus on ourselves as a
whole and not just our bodies, but our overall wellness. Having a better baseline in our
health and everyday practices are what gets us moving and better. This enhanced my
relations and thoughts towards my other classes by helping me realize that it was not
about trying to be the best, but doing good and honest work, and that will show just by
putting in some effort.
2. For myself it was a great relief to realize that this Life Wellness class was not about
pushing my body to or over its limits in the workouts. It made the stress about planning
and completing each workout go away almost completely. Before I took this class, my
assumptions were that it would be similar to my previous experiences with physical
education in my past school career, where I would have to reach certain points in an area
in order to receive a good grade. I always hated it, because everyone’s body is different
and can only manage a certain amount compared to others who are avid athletes. I
definitely judged this class before I took it, I had never taken an online physical education
course, especially during a pandemic. But I’m glad I did, as there were a few of the
suggested workouts that really opened my mind and even helped me. For example, the
meditation workouts were awesome, and they became a new favorite of mine. To learn
new ways to manage stress, calm down, or take a moment to breathe really helped me
this semester, as the current classes I am taking are the first in a few years, and it’s hard
to get back into a good school rhythm. I still use some of the tactics to help myself, and
am glad I know more ways to help myself for the future. So, for my signature
assignment, I will be using that as my example.

I did reach my goal, I did the meditation in the morning and night on Monday. The intensity was
a 1, and my heartrate stayed in the 60's.

Please tell us about your experience with the workout today. Please write a paragraph (minimum
of 3 sentences) describing what you did, how it felt, what you liked, and will you do this format
again soon?

 How did you feel after the workout?

 What did you like about this workout format?
 What is the likelihood you will do this type of workout again? Why?

*You can copy and paste this in your discussion post if you want
Your Answer:
I tried out the grateful meditation workout. I have anxiety and am always wanting to try out new
calming mantras or meditation workouts to maybe help me improve my day, relieve some stress,
calm me down, or just get ready for the day.  I always feel great after doing these,  I only
recently starting meditation techniques a few months ago during the pandemic after the
suggestion from a friend. The take on doing this with the aim of gratitude made me want to try it
out. I liked how the workout was peaceful, quiet, and relaxing; and it made me feel content after
thinking about the things I was grateful for. I will definitely do this again, it's a good little reality
check if you're feeling down.
