Dear Boise Young Professionals,

It is with great pleasure that I recommend Melissa Miller for the BYP award of
Young Citizen of the Year. Over the years, I’ve witnessed an incredible
amount of passion and productivity from Melissa. Upon meeting, I immediately
knew that she was a force to be reckoned with when I heard that she was
drafting a proposal within the company to replace disposable dishes with a
more sustainable solution. This is Melissa in a nutshell: a mind for the greater
good coupled with an actionable attitude.

Melissa is a natural leader in her ability to both identify and address areas of
need. She is not only highly productive in her role, building a development
training program from the ground up, but she also finds the time to contribute
to her workplace and community outside of her job duties.

Melissa is one of the founding members of Clearwater’s Diversity and Inclusion

working group, one which focuses on driving initiatives and processes to help
create a safe and equitable work environment for all. Melissa is often the
voice in the room that advocates for the demographics furthest out on the
fringe.

Melissa has also played a key role in the company with our Volunteer Time Off
Program. She has been effective in steering activities towards opportunities
that have a higher degree of civic engagement, such as those that benefit
local schools, businesses, or our STEM community in general.

Melissa is a model citizen and professional, which is why I’m pleased to
recommend her for Young Citizen of the Year.

Sincerely,

Nikki Semmelroth
