Settings

To perform any of the following


accessibility actions within this
presentation, you will first need to know
how to access the settings menu on
your iphone.
A way to get to settings would be to find
your search bar and type in the word
“settings”.
Clicking on the settings icon will
then bring you into the settings menu.
Settings
Once in settings you will scroll down to find
the option that says:
Accessibility .

This option should be located:


-under the Home Screen option

-above the Wallpaper option


Accessibility Menu

Clicking the accessibility button

will take you into the accessibility


menu where you will see a number
of options titled under 4 different
categories. The categories are:

● Vision
● Physical Motor
● Hearing
● General
Directions: Settings > Accessibility > Vision

Vision

Under the vision category you will see


different options such as:

VoiceOver
Zoom
Magnifier
Display & Text Size
Motion
Spoken Content
Audio Descriptions
Directions: Settings > Accessibility > Vision

Vision
In the Vision category we
will be exploring the
following:

● Magnifier

● Display & Text Size


Directions: Settings > Accessibility > Vision > Magnifier
Magnifier
Magnifier display on

When selecting the home

Magnifier you will have
option to turn it on/off.

When turned on the Magnifier

camera on your device to
magnify your surroundings.

student who is having
trouble seeing.

Display & Text Size


Within Display & Text Size
there are many options that
can applied to help assist
students visually.

One of the options we will


explore is: Color Filters.
Directions: Settings > Accessibility > Vision > Display & Text Size > Color Filters

Color Filters
Color Filters can be used to
assist students who are
color blind or students who
have difficulty reading text
on a certain display.
Directions: Settings > Accessibility > Vision > Display & Text Size > Color Filters

Color Filters
When in the Color Filters Option you will notice that there are three
images/diagrams that you can scroll through. These are used to show what the
colors will look like after applying your selected color filter.
Directions: Settings > Accessibility > Vision > Display & Text Size > Color Filters

Color Filters > On


Turning color filters on will
then bring you to the options
that may be chosen when
turning this filter on.
Your options will be:
● Grayscale
● Red/Green Filter
● Green/Red Filter
● Blue/Yellow Filter
● Color Tint
Directions: Settings > Accessibility > Vision > Display & Text Size > Color Filters

Color Filters (continued)


Clicking on Grayscale will put your phone in
grayscale mode.

Clicking on:

Red/Green Filter, Green/Red Filter or


Blue/Yellow Filter will open up an extra option will
change the filters accordingly, and also allow an
additional option for the filter called: intensity.

It will show up below the “ Color Tint” option.

Selecting the Color Tint option will also allow you


to adjust the intensity, as well as opening up the
option to adjust the hue.

Under the hearing category you will
see different options such as:

Hearing Devices

Sound Recognition

RTT/TTY

Audio/Visual

Subtitles & Captioning


Directions: Settings > Accessibility > Hearing

In the Hearing category we will be


exploring the following:

● Hearing Devices

● Subtitles & Captioning

Compatibility

Hearing Aid Compatibility


Within Hearing Devices
we can access the Hearing
Aid Compatibility option.

This is used to improve the


audio quality for students
who have hearing devices
(hearing aids).
Directions: Settings > Accessibility > Hearing > Subtitles & Captioning > Closed
Captions + SDH

Closed Captions + SDH


Within Subtitles & Captioning
we can access the Closed
Captions + SDH option.

Closed Captioning can assist


students who are deaf or
hard of hearing.
Directions: Settings > Accessibility > Hearing > Subtitles & Captioning > Style

Closed Caption Styles


Within this option there is
also the option to change the
styles of the closed captions.

Selecting Style will bring you


to the options that you can
select for the closed
captions.

Style Variations
Directions: Settings > Accessibility > Hearing > Subtitles & Captioning > Style

Create New Style...


There is also an option
within style where you can
create your own style of
subtitles.

Under the general category
you will see different options
such as:

Siri
