Changing PowerWizard 1.0 to PowerWizard 2.

If a Powerwizard panel is ordered through Desford it will come blank and the necessary files will
be required. The FLS can found on EPSS by searching with the generating set serial number. If
the file is for a new job not associated with the generating set serial number, please contact the
TSC. However a field replacement file only exists if the panel has been programmed at the
factory and cannot be created by the TSC.

In this instance if an identical generating set with the required control panel, the same KVA and
voltage option code has been previously supplied, the field replacement file can be used.

If an identical generating set is not available, it is possible to take the field replacement file from a
PowerWizard 1.0 and use it to upgrade to a PowerWizard 2.0

1. Connect to PowerWizard 1.0 and start EST

2. Service -> Copy Configuration -> ECM Replacement

3. Load From ECM now ... Yes

4. Save to File

5. Disconnect EST

6. Swap module to PowerWizard 2.0

7. Reconnect with EST

8. Service -> Copy Configuration -> ECM Replacement

9. EST Offers a file, select the file saved above.

10. “Program ECM” to download these setpoints to the PowerWizard 2

When upgrading from a PowerWizard 1.0 to PowerWizard 2.0 the following wiring modifications
are required, as these cables are not fitted in the PowerWizard 1.0 control panel:

Wiring modifications:
- CAN2 J1939
- RS485
- RLY 7&8 PROG O/P
- PROG I/P 7&8
- PROG I/P PASSIVE ANALOG 3+
- PROG I/P PASSIVE ANALOG 3-

Extra connector pins will be required and can be ordered from Desford using the following part
number: 10000-37027. In addition a 120ohm resistor for the CAN2 J1939 and extra panel
terminals for the wiring modifications are required.
If a complete panel assembly is ordered through Larne Supplied the panel will come configured
for what you require, it will be a straight swap with no wiring modifications.
