Heroism is something that can be defined in many ways, but in the end, heroism is truly doing

the right thing when no one’s watching. You may see heroes in action movies in their bright
costumes and huge capes, but they are so much more then that. They always choose right over
wrong, and are helpful, kind, courageous, hardworking, and determined. Being a hero doesn’t
mean saving a lost puppy for reward money, it means always doing what’s right because it’s the
right thing to do, not because you want recognition for your actions. True heroes aren’t what
you see on the TV, they’re nurses, doctors, firefighters, and sometimes even just a regular old
person walking down the street. Real heroes do the right thing even if their heroic actions are
unnoticed.

A real hero could be anyone, willing to take the chance and risk their lives for the sake of
other’s happiness. For example, someone sees a woman getting attacked by a dog screaming
for help and in terror, a hero wouldn’t be a bystander and call 911, a real hero would take
action and save her! Heroes don’t just do something expecting to be rewarded, they take action
and are just happy that they made someone’s day. Heroes prevail through some of the most
challenging situations with ease and do the right thing the first time. They choose to be good
people and choose kindness and excellence over evil. Heroes are good at keeping everyone
happy and encouraging them to do the right thing just like they do.

Heroes are good, but not boastful.

Heroes are humble, but not snobby.
Heroes are kindhearted, but not excessive.
Heroes are special, but not show-offs.
Heroes choose the right thing, not what everyone else around them wants them to do.
They always choose right, never wrong.
They are respectful, not rude, and have good character.

Real heroes aren’t just people on the TV with big red capes and colorful suits, they’re all around
you. They do what’s right instead of what’s wrong. Heroes don’t follow the crowd, they stand
out. Heroes do extraordinary things not expecting to be rewarded or praised. Heroes are kind,
smart, helpful, courageous, hardworking, determined, and generally good people.
