MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS:

This Memorandum of Understanding is made and entered into this __th day of
_______ 2021, by and between:

The XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX, a government office duly organized and

existing under the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, with principal office address at
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX, represented in this act by its President, XXXXX,
hereinafter referred to as “XXXXXXXXXXXX”,

-and-

The LOCAL GOVERNMENT UNIT (LGU) OF XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX duly

created under the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, with office located at XXXXXXXX,
represented in this act by its Mayor, XXXXXXXXXXXXX, duly authorized by its Board of
Directors hereinafter referred to as the “XXXXXXXXXXXXXX”.

WITNESSETH:

WHEREAS, the 1991 Local Government Code (LGC) or Republic Act (RA) 7160
provides the basis for local governance of the country's natural resources, including its
watersheds;

WHEREAS, the 1991 Local Government Code (LGC) or Republic Act (RA) 7160 states
that the LGU shall share with the national government the responsibility in the management and
maintenance of ecological balance within their territorial jurisdiction, subject to national policies;

WHEREAS, EO No. 192 (1987) the DENR as the primary government agency
responsible for the sustainable development and management of the country’s
environment and natural resources;

WHEREAS, the DENR and the ROTARY CLUB OF MANILA recognize the
importance of collaboration and partnership in order to achieve the objectives of the NGP.

NOW THEREFORE, in consonance of the above premises, XXXXXXXX and

XXXXXXXXX have agreed to undertake a local and functional Watershed Development
Program.
 It is mutually understood and agreed by and between XXXXXXX and XXXXXXX that
based from this MOU, an implementation plan shall be discussed and a Memorandum of
Agreement shall be crafted detailing the various activities, the monitoring to be undertaken and
the specific roles of each party.

Purpose

The purpose of this MOU is to jointly improve the ecological condition

nationwide through rehabilitation of denuded and degraded forest lands under the
Enhanced National Greening Program (ENGP).

Amendments

The provisions of this MOU shall be modified, altered or supplemented as

agreed upon in writing by both parties.

Effectivity and duration

This MOU shall be effective upon signing by both parties and shall remain in
force and effect until its termination. It shall be terminated twelve (12) months from the date
of its effectivity.
