GRAMMAR BOX N°1
WOULD LIKE TO PARA EXPRESAR DESEOS EN INGLÉS
Puedes utilizar la manera formal o informal para expresar tus deseos.
FORMAL INFORMAL CONTRACTION
I want to… (Yo quiero…) I would like to… (Me gustaría…) I´d like to…
I would not to… (No me gustaría…) I wouldn´t to…
Nos enfocaremos en la manera informal en su forma afirmativa y negativa.
Nota que Would like siempre está seguido del infinitivo con el to. Observemos estos ejemplos:
• I would like to rescue abandoned animals. (Me gustaría rescatar animales abandonados.)
• I wouldn’t like to pick up rubbish. (No me gustaría recoger basura.)
Observa las siguientes frases.
a. help my neighbors = I would like to help my neighbors.
b. pick up rubbish in a public place = I would not like to pick up rubbish in a public place.
c. plant trees. = I would like to plant trees.
d. volunteer at a community garden = I´d like to volunteer at a community garden.
e. work in a mine. = I wouldn´t like to work in a mine.
GRAMMAR BOX N°2
ADJETIVOS SEGUIDOS POR PREPOSICIONES
Los siguientes adjetivos van seguido de una preposición (IN- ABOUT – AT):
1. Good at = Bueno(a) en I am good at playing football.
2. Interested in = Interesado (a) en I am interested in protecting the rivers.
3. Worried about = Preocupado (a) por I am worried about the level of contamination.
4. Concerned about = Preocupado (a) por I am concerned about erosion
PARA TENER EN CUENTA Y NO OLVIDAR
• Cada vez que utilices una preposición el verbo que sigue debe ir en gerundio (se le añade ING).
• Nunca olvides que estos adjetivos deben ir con la preposición indicada.

READING COMPREHENSION
Evaluaras tus conocimientos en lectura. Primero lee los párrafos (1, 2 y 3)
Luego relaciónalos con cada una de las opiniones que se encuentran en las letras ( a, b y c). Escribe el número en la

1. BIG BUSINESS
The city council has announced the creation of a new shopping center.
Sadly, it’s necessary to cut down a small forest of 200 trees to make space for the development. Local politicians strongly
believe that the shopping centre is great for business in the city.
2. PLASTIC PROHIBITION
The mayor of the city is now asking people to stop using plastic bags. In
her opinion, it’s good to prohibit the use of plastic bags. Some people don’t agree with her. They feel they have the right to
use plastic bags because they’re useful for many things.

VOCABULARY
Ahora vas a evaluar tu vocabulario con estos tres textos relacionados con colegios que reducen el impacto del
medio ambiente a través de algunas acciones.
Debes escoger y completar cada texto con las palabras que encuentras en cada una de las cajas.
I) Last week our teachers had a meeting to discuss how we could become more -reduce pesticide use
environmentally sustainable. There were some great ideas so we chose three. -reduce pollution
