P Activity During our math class period, I will separate the students into
e groups of four each. Each group will have paper representation
d of each of the coins (pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters.) The
a students will go through a review with the whiteboard activity.
g
The students will get the opportunity to work with their

classmates and use team building to use their coins to
y represent the values given throughout the activity. We will
have the review as a class and the money game will be done in
the groups.
● In slide 1 there is a coin song where the students learn
the value of a coin. This song is a great fun and
interactive tool for students. We will do the song as a
fun warm up as a class.
● In slides 2-17, the whiteboard activity will have various
coins and values where the students have to drag and
drop the correct value next to the coin. There are also
slides where the student has to drop the name of the
coin next to the one it represents. There are pictures of
the coins so the students can physically see the coins
and the value it represents. I will ask for student
volunteers to come up to the board to drag and drop
the corresponding answer.
● In slides 18-23, after the review there is an interactive
money game. The money game gives the students
different “levels” where they are given a bank of
money and they have to represent the amount given to
them with coins. Students will have to use their
knowledge of coin value to make the appropriate
answer to the bank. The student will be able to interact
with the board and make duplicate coins to represent
using the same or different coins. Those students that
are not at the board can use their own coins at their
desk to mock what is on the white board. The students
will work as a group to figure out which coins to use
and then have a representative go to the board to
show what their group came up with.
The students will receive a paper copy of this interactive
activity and will be able to practice at home. Their parents will
also receive a link in their students school account with the
activity to also practice with them.
