I am writing to express my interest in the Phoenix Children’s Hospital Inpatient Nurse Resident Program.
My strong clinical background, passion for children, and exceptional organizational skills makes me a
qualified candidate for this position.

Throughout my time as a nursing student, I’ve gained critical experience in various medical settings.
These experiences furthered my foundational competencies in nursing and allowed me to advance my
skills in time management, communication, collaboration, and critical thinking. In these settings, I
ultimately aimed to advocate for both patients and their families, as well as empathize during their times
of need. While this year has been difficult due to the pandemic, I have learned to welcome new and
unfamiliar situations as well as adapt quickly to them. Therefore, I am fully capable and committed to
what it takes to work at Phoenix Children’s Hospital.

During my undergraduate career at The University of Arizona, I was also involved in various leadership
experiences, all of which gave me the fundamental skills I will need to carry out the tasks of this position.
I acted as a mentor for children in a behavioral health program, in which I gained experience in
communicating and interacting with diverse populations. Additionally, I was the senator for the College
of Nursing, which helped me acquire the skills to work with individuals in other disciplines. Finally, my
work as a nursing intern at a medication management center provided me with the tools needed to
effectively perform health education.

Throughout my time at The University of Arizona’s College of Nursing, I strived to uphold the core
values of integrity, compassion, exploration, adaptation, inclusion, and determination. I believe this
allows me to grow as a nurse and as a person as well. In order to offer excellent healthcare to patients and
their families, I am committed to upholding the mission and values of Phoenix Children’s Hospital. My
experience, education, and overall dedication makes me a strong candidate for consideration. I welcome
