This week I started back with my internship. Honestly, nothing has ever felt so hard. All

week long I STRUGGLED to focus. I have decided to up the number of counseling sessions per

week that I have. I have also made the decision to bring in more people to hold me accountable

and push me to keep going. I know it isn’t all on them, but I tend to do better with a little extra

shove. On Monday I started doing outreach again. I was a little foggy with it so I went back and

checked in with older contacts who hadn’t responded to my emails. We are looking to offer those

with less access to technology mailing kits with brochures, flyers, and business cards. It’s not a

perfect solution, but it will help the Alzheimer’s Association get their foot in the door with some

of those clients. Maybe when things are better and COVID hasn’t restricted so much of senior

center functioning, these places will be able to work with us again.

On Tuesday I had a quick phone call to my supervisor, Buffy. I touched base with her to

remind her I was back. She is going to have another meeting with me on Monday, 3/29 to see

how I am doing. We still have several programs to present together in April. She wanted to make

sure I was up for it, so we plan to keep those dates. I also have been reviewing curriculum for

those programs to present. I am so excited about this opportunity, and I think it’s something I

have really come to enjoy. I haven’t presented yet, but I have come to find out that because I’m

so passionate in this subject that the possibility of creating better experiences for others gets me

excited. It just feels rewarding even know to know that someone could change the world (in

ways big or small) if they take even a fraction of something away from these programs. This

internship has reminded me that I love to serve and teach and given the opportunity to do so I

think would be great. Wednesday and Thursday, I continued to do outreach as well. I continued

to try and touch base with contacts who may need extra assistance in place of technology to

reach their patrons with the resources we have to offer. I have also mentioned to my supervisor

that we will need to meet again about questions for my final project.

Monday 3/22: 8:00-12:00, 12:30-1:30 (5 hours)  Had a really rough day, called counseling

services for help talking and with focusing again. Spoke with Dixie Turner

Tuesday 3/23: 8:00-12, 12:30-3:00 (6.5 hours)  Had another rough day. Called Georgia Crisis

Line to get in touch with someone since Dr. Turner was busy.

Wednesday 3/24: 8:00-12, 12:30-5:00 (8.5 hours)  Getting back on track

Thursday 3/25: 0 hours  Held my dad’s funeral service today

Friday 3/26: 8:00-12:00, 12:30-5:00 (8.5 hours)  Switched my Thursday to Friday.

Total Hours this week: 28.5 hours  I’m sorry it’s not 32 full hours. I will work every day

during the week from now on to get more. I had a really hard time adjusting back to normal time

with being stuck to stay in my parent’s home on Monday and Tuesday. I went back to my

student housing later this week and it has helped me better focus.

Total Hours to Date: 273 hours I plan to make up as much as I can. I am so sorry I’m behind.
