CALL FOR PAPERS:

EALS HUMAN RIGHTS AND

RULE OF LAW JOURNAL

(VOLUME 1 ISSUE 1)

The East Africa Law Society (EALS) invites

submission of papers for the inaugural edition
of its Human Rights and Rule of Law Journal
(EAHR&RLJ).

The EAHR&RLJ is a peer-reviewed journal to be

published annually in both print and electronic
form. Its thematic focus is human rights and
Rule of Law within the member states of the East
African Community (currently Burundi, Kenya,
Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda).
The Journal aims at providing critical
contemporary analyses of the state and progress
of respect for and promotion of human rights
and Rule of Law in East Africa. It will thus be
instrumental in improving our understanding of
the region’s key human rights and Rule of Law
concerns and developments and in turn inform
better and more effective policy discourse and
other actions for change.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
All submissions should be original and focus on the human rights and Rule of Law
thematic area.
Submissions should, ideally, not exceed 6000 words in length.
Both individual and co-authored contributions are welcome.
Authors should check their articles for clarity, repetition, grammar, spelling,
punctuation, and consistency as such errors may, where extensive, lead to rejection of
a submission.
In line with our policy, no plagiarism shall be entertained.
Submissions should use footnotes and follow the Oxford Standard for the Citation of
Legal Authorities, OSCOLA.

The completed papers, together with the author’s head-shot and a short profile description
should be emailed in MS Word form to journalsubmissions@ealawsociety.org
with a copy to ceo@ealawsociety.org on or before Friday, 31st July, 2021.

EALS shall acquire a non-exclusive licence over published submissions. EALS does not
offer payment for submissions. It does, however, offer a unique opportunity for authors
to have their work distributed and considered by a wide and varied audience.
