1. What is the book / story about (summarize briefly)?
Sastha is a child who lives on the coast of Calormen. He was raised by a rude and money-thirsty
man named Arsheesh. Sastha had always dreamed of traveling to the north where she never
knew what it was. One day, a Calormene commander and his war horse intended to buy Sastha.
Arsheesh invited the commander to stay in his hut while bargaining a price, and Sastha was
forced to stay at the stable. At the Stable, Sastha was surprised when the commander's war horse
could speak. The horse was named Bree, the Talking Horse who was kidnapped from Narnia and
became a slave to Calormenes. The horse invites Sastha to travel together to the North, Bree
provides additional motivation for Sastha: Sastha is white, in contrast to most Calormene skin,
meaning Sastha comes from the North. Sastha and Bree finally go on a trip with Sastha to get a
tutor to ride horses freely by Bree. They sometimes steal to make ends meet. When crossing a
river in the forest at night, they feel that they are being followed by a horse and its rider, and at
the same time, they are being chased by a lion. The lion chased them until the stalker was now
with Bree and Sastha. Finally, they escape their pursuit and the two of them become acquainted
with Aravis Tarkheena and the Talking Horse, Hwin. Aravis, who is the daughter of a Calormene
aristocrat, said that she ran away with Hwin because she was forced to marry by her father to
Ahostha Tarkaan, a ruthless and wealthy Tisroc adviser, when he wanted to commit suicide, Hwin
prevented him and provided a solution to go to Narnia. Then, the four of them discussed how to
get past the most difficult obstacle, namely the great river that was mediated by the capital of the
Calormene Empire, Tashbaan. If they managed to get past the obstacle, they only had to go
through the desert and mountains of Archenland and get to Narnia. They decided to disguise
themselves as merchants and cross over to Tashbaan. Arriving at Tashbaan, they met the
entourage of Queen Susan and King Edmund of Narnia. It was then, that Sastha was mistaken for
Corin, the prince of Archenland. He was dragged to the halfway house of the Narnian group.
There, Sastha listened to how Queen Susan wanted to avoid the proposal of the Tisroc children.
Mr. Tumnus the Faun suggested that the boat party would be thwarted so that no one would get
suspicious. Then, in the evening, the ship will quietly leave Calormen. Sastha, was given a nice
banquet and in the evening he switched places with the real prince Corin, who was a brave but
naughty boy. After changing places, Sastha managed to get out of Tashbaan and go to the Tomb
of the Old Kings in the North of Tashbaan which was considered haunted, a place where the
escort party reunited if they were separated. The fate of Aravis, Bree, and Hwin was better.
Aravis meets her best friend, Lasaraleen who is very feminine and rich. Lasaraleen helped Aravis
and the two horses to get to the grave as quickly as possible. As they sneaked out through the
Tisroc palace, they were jealous of hearing the talk of Ahostha, the Tisroc, and the Tisroc's son,
Rabadash. Rabadash asks the Tisroc for permission to make a surprise attack on Narnia while
Great King Peter is fighting the giants in the North. Finally, the four of them returned together
with Sastha to find out the news of the attack. The four of them followed the sand and cliffs to
the opposite side of the Winding Arrow River which was far from the desert. But the journey was
no longer the same when they were in the hills of Archenland, they saw the Calormenes. Then
they were chased by another lion until Aravis was injured and they were able to rest at the
hermit's house on the Southern Border. The hermit entrusted Sastha to tell about the Calormen
attack to King Lune, the current king of Archenland. Sastha ran to Anvard and met the King.
Finally, the King thanked Sastha and prepared protection. Meanwhile, Sastha was also tasked
with delivering an attack on Narnia to help Archenland. While traveling, Sastha meets Aslan, who
turns out to be a lion who always chases them so that their journey can be in time. Sastha went
to Narnia and conveyed to all his people. Cair Paravel Palace which contains King Edmund, Queen
Susan, and Queen Lucy immediately made preparations as well with the Talking Beasts. With that
battle, the Calormenes were finally defeated with the leader of the raid, Rabadash, taken
prisoner. Sastha is then associated with the similarity of his face to Corin, that Sastha is Corin's
twin sister who was separated from birth. Sastha, who is actually named Cor, goes to the Hermit
and fetches Aravis, Bree, and Hwin to Archenland. There, the negotiations took place for the
judgment of Rabadash. Just then, Aslan arrives and turns Rabadash into a donkey. Aslan says,
Rabadash can be himself again when he is in the Tash Temple, he will become a human again.
And he can become a donkey again if he is more than 10 miles from Tashbaan. Thus, Cor became
the heir to the throne of King Lune and Aravis, free from the Calormene aristocratic life, married
Cor. Life in Archenland became peaceful again
