KINS 4306 Internship in Public Health

Journal Week #15

On Monday, I had my LGBTQ+ Event work group meeting. We checked in with one

another and then talked about movie night updates. We decided on a new movie, Saving Face

(2004) directed by Alice Wu. We also talked about the marketing graphic for the movie night,

and the person in charge of it said that it was done, they were just making last minute edits. After

that, we discussed what time we should arrive at the movie night, and we decided we should

arrive an hour early to set up and make sure everything was in place. After the meeting, I

continued working on the voice-over script for the anatomy video and started fully editing the

sex myths video.

On Tuesday, we had our staff celebration luncheon. It was really nice to get everyone

together in one physical space opposed to zoom. We all chatted with each other as we ate our

catered lunch, and then Jenn did a little farewell speech for the seniors which was really

touching. We even got graduation cords as a way to show our accomplishments this semester at

the Women’s Center & LGBTQ+ Programs. After the luncheon, I kept working on the voice-

over script and editing the sex myths video, and I started working on the Internship Evaluation &

Final Report for Jenn/the Women’s Center.

On Wednesday, I just kept working on the voice-over script and the evaluation/final

report, and I kept editing the video as well. Wednesday was a pretty boring day in terms of

exciting events, but it was a very productive day which was good.

On Thursday, I continued working on the voice-over script, the evaluation/final report,

and editing the video. We also had our long-awaited movie night that I was very excited for. We

set up from 7:30 pm- 8:30 pm, watched the movie from 8:30 pm-10 pm, and cleaned up from 10

pm-10:30 pm. We had a pretty decent turn out—about 10-15 people. We held it outside at the
Parkhurst/Foundation Courtyard and used the school’s blow-up movie screen. It was a really fun

event and I think it was a great success.

On Friday, I had my last one-on-one meeting with Jenn. She did one last check-in with

me and bid me farewell. This was a very bittersweet meeting, as I am sad to leave this internship

but excited to move on to bigger and better things. I also finished editing the sex myths video

and completed the voice-over script and the evaluation/final report.
