A gentle breeze and an unseasonably warm 78 degrees no
doubt contributed to the large turnout, but there was
definitely an air of excitement on the first tee as players
warmly greeted each other after a long winter off season. As
usual, all the major networks were there to cover the event --
except the Golf Channel which apparently is in a contract
dispute with CBS over exclusive rights to televise ATAG
matches. (When contacted, a GC representative refused to
comment under instructions from her legal counsel.)

COMMISH'S TEAM VICTORIOUS!
The opening day gusto was grabbed by none other than
the Commissioner's Team 3, which, despite dropping two
shots on the last hole, topped the field with a score of 10
under, thanks to the stellar play of Tim Martin and the steady
influence of Andy Tyber, each of whom contributed birdie-
net eagle to the winning cause. Providing the bounty were
Team 1 members Tom Kisgen, PJ Wade, Brad Reese, and
Danny Morris, who narrowly missed a three way tie for
patron honors by finishing at 6 under.
