PREI: Tonight is a celebration of adulthood and a thanksgiving of the life God has given to our lovely celebrant, Alyana. Let
us put our hands together, as we welcome the main highlight of this celebration, and as she stepped into a higher level of life,
ladies and gentlemen, our debutant,

GLENN: Wow, blooming and lovely, indeed! Saan nga ba siya nagmana? Kay Mommy ba? Or kay Daddy? Or baka both?

PREI: Evidently, tonight, Yana has happy years in a very happy home. The love of a family will always be God’s greatest
blessing. Sabi nga nila, in life we can have several friends, classmates, and social circles, but there is only one family who is
always willing and ready to welcome us no matter what.

GLENN: At this moment, I’d like to request everybody to please stand as we say our prayer to be lead by Ms. Manilyn Dela
Cruz..

PREI: And now we will witness the changing of shoes ceremony. This signifies a young woman's transition from a girl to
womanhood. The tradition dates back to the native American cultures when they would celebrate young boys becoming
warriors and young girls becoming a woman.
GLENN: Ladies and gentlemen let us now witness the changing of shoes ceremony by the parents of our debutant, Alyana.

PREI: Let us give them around of applause.

GLENN: all of you who are here tonight are closest to yana but nothing knows her better than her parents. So I guess it is just
but fair to start this with the birthday wish of her family.

GLENN: Like a pretty flower that attracts bees and butterflies, Yana will be surrounded by 18 equally handsome gentlemen
who will represent the debutant’s 18 Roses. And here’s the catch partner this 18 roses
PREI: The 18 roses is the highlight of the debut program. It represents a girls readiness in the area of romance. The first Rose
is usually given by the debutants father to symbolize something that is beautiful and thorny. He is then followed by the other
male members of the family as the protectors of the girl. The remaining men and the 18 rose line up are the friends of the
debutant.

GLENN: and the person selected as either the second to the last rose or the last rose is the girls special someone. And tanong
partner, meron nga bang special someone?

PREI: malay mo partner merong biglang lumitaw ngayong gabi na macoconsider ni alyana na special someone.

GLENN: Im excited! The First dance is of course reserved to the forever most handsome and most loving guy in her life.

PREI: (In the middle of the father and daughter dance) The father and daughter dance is probably one of the most loved
traditions in any Filipino debut celebration. This signifies the daughter’s first step to womanhood and the father’s acceptance
of this period in his daughter’s life.

PREI: You’re right Glenn, We have the 8 treasures.,As the debutant celebrates the beginning of womanhood, she will need
tools that either help her in the future, encourage her in the present or give her something fond to look back on. The 18
treasures will be given by persons who became a part of the debutant’s 18 years.

GLENN: These are the people who were always by her side through highs and lows and suns and storms; and they will
continue to be there for her for the next 18 years and more. In the 18 treasures, friends and family members are tasked to give
the debutant special gifts or tokens and explain the story behind the gift. So simply answer the question “What is the story
behind the gift?”
