Extensive variant (300 words sharp).

International communication now is as important as it never has been. With

the ongoing process of globalization, we can hardly do without knowing foreign
language. However, if we had an opportunity to plant a chip into our heads to
speak any language we wished, would it bring more trouble than benefit? People’s
opinions differ.

In my view, without a doubt, it would make human life much easier. Firstly,
because there would be no need in learning languages, what requires a splendid ton
of time and effort. Moreover, as people would be able to speak any language they
wished, they would be able to take language of their liking to communicate. That
leads us to the second point, which is an ability to explore, which this chip offers.
An ability to dive into other people’s cultures by diving into their languages. In
addition, the chip will help preserve national languages as of now we are slowly
beginning to pay them less attention.

However, others believe that this chip may become a cause of a big trouble.
They suppose that it may have a negative impact on both your mental and physical
health as you put electronics right into your brain. What is more, they state that it
will make jobs of translators unnecessary.

I cannot agree with their point, as it is obviously false. Firstly, because chip
implantations are already in use and are proved to be safe. Secondly, because
translators will still be required to translate books and signs, because an average
person might not know how to do it right.

Considering all of the above, we can surely conclude, that if there was a chip
which could enable people to speak any language they wanted, communicating
would become much easier and, in overall, it would be a good thing.
