I. Do as indicated.

A. Sample of size n were randomly selected from population with means, standard deviation and variances given below.
In each case, find the mean, standard deviation and variance of the sampling distribution of the means.

1. n=4 , μ=4.6 , σ 2=4 , σ=2

mean of the sampling distribution of the means

standard deviation of the sampling distribution of the means

variance of the sampling distribution of the means

2. n=36 , μ=40 , σ 2=5.76 , σ=2.4

mean of the sampling distribution of the means

standard deviation of the sampling distribution of the means

variance of the sampling distribution of the means

3. n=16 , μ=8.5 , σ 2 =9 , σ=3

mean of the sampling distribution of the means

standard deviation of the sampling distribution of the means

variance of the sampling distribution of the means

B. The average number of milligrams (mg) of cholesterol in a cup of a certain brand of ice cream is 600 mg, and the
standard deviation is 35mg. Assume that the variable is normally distributed.

1. If a Cup of ice cream is selected, what is the probability that the cholesterol content will be more than 670 mg?

2. If a sample size of 10 cups of ice cream is selected, what is the probability that the mean of the sample will be larger
than 670 mg?
