AL-FURQAN [the CRITERION]

(25:61-77)
25:61

َٰ َ ِ ‫تَ َب َاركََ ٱ ذ َِّل َى َج َع ََل ِ َف ٱ ذلس َما َِٓء ُب ُرو ًجَا َو َج َع ََل ِفهيََا‬
‫س ًجَا َوقَ َم ًرَا ُّم ِن ًريَا‬
Blessed is He who has placed in the sky great stars and placed therein a [burning] lamp and luminous
moon.

25:62

‫َوه ََُو ٱ ذ َِّل َى َج َع ََل ٱل ذ ْي ََل َوٱلَّنذ َ ََار ِخلْ َف ًَة ِل َم َْن َٱ َرا ََد َٱ َن ي َ ذذكذ ََر َٱ َْو َٱ َرا ََد ُش ُك ًورَا‬
And it is He who has made the night and the day in succession for whoever desires to remember or
desires gratitude.

25:63

ََ ُ‫ض ه َْونًَ َوا َذَا خ ََاطَبَ ُ َُم ٱلْ َج ٰـهِل‬

‫ون قَالُوَا َسلَ ٰـ ًمَا‬ َ ِ ‫ل ٱ ْ َْل ْر‬
َ َ َ‫ون ع‬ ََ ‫َو ِع َبا َُد ٱ ذلر ْ َْح ٰـ َِن ٱ ذ َِّل‬
ََ ‫ين ي َ ْم ُش‬
ِ
And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth easily, and when the
ignorant address them [harshly], they say [words of] peace,

25:64

‫ون ِل َر ِ ِّب َْم ُُسذدً َا َو ِق َي ٰـ ًمَا‬ ََ ‫َوٱ ذ َِّل‬

ََ ‫ين يَبِي ُت‬
And those who spend [part of] the night to their Lord prostrating and standing [in prayer]
25:65

‫اب َ ََج ذََّنَ ا ذَن عَ َذاّبَ ََا ََك ََن غَ َرا ًمَا‬
ََ ‫ف َعنذَا عَ َذ‬
َ ْ ‫ْص‬
ِ ْ ‫ون َربذنََا ٱ‬ ََ ‫َوٱ ذ َِّل‬
ََ ُ‫ين ي َ ُقول‬
ِ
And those who say, "Our Lord, avert from us the punishment of Hell. Indeed, its punishment is ever
adhering;

25:66

َْ ‫اَّنذ ََا َسا ٓ َء‬

‫ت ُم ْس َت َق ًّرَا َو ُم َقا ًمَا‬
ِ
Indeed, it is evil as a settlement and residence."

25:67

ََ ْ َ ‫ُْسفُوَا َول َ َْم ي َ ْق ُ ُُت َوا َو ََك ََن ب‬

ََ ِ َٰ‫ي َذ‬
‫ل قَ َوا ًمَا‬ ََ ‫َوٱ ذ َِّل‬
ِ ْ ‫ين ا َذَا ٓ َٱن َف ُقوَا ل َ َْم ي‬
ِ
And [they are] those who, when they spend, do so not excessively or sparingly but are ever, between
that, [justly] moderate

25:68

‫ّلل ا ذَل‬ َ ِ ‫س ٱل ذ‬
َُ ‫ت َح ذرََم ٱ ذ‬ ََ ُ‫ّلل ال َ ٰـهًَا َءاخ َََر َو ََل ي َ ْق ُتل‬
َ َ ‫ون ٱلنذ ْف‬ َِ ‫ون َم ََع ٱ ذ‬
ََ ‫ين ََل ي َ ْد ُع‬ََ ‫َوٱ ذ َِّل‬
ِ ِ
ْ
‫ل يَل ََق َٱ ََث ًمَا‬ ََ ‫بِٱلْ َح َِق َو ََل يَ ْ نز‬
ََ ِ َٰ‫ُونَ َو َم َن ي َ ْف َع َْل َذ‬
And those who do not invoke with Allah another deity or kill the soul which Allah has forbidden [to
be killed], except by right, and do not commit unlawful sexual intercourse. And whoever should do that
will meet a penalty.

25:69

ًَ‫اب ي َ ْوََم ٱلْ ِق َي ٰـ َم َِة َو َ َْي ُ َْل ِفي ِهَۦ ُمهَان‬

َُ ‫ف ََُل ٱلْ َع َذ‬
َ ْ ‫يُضَ ٰـ َع‬
Multiplied for him is the punishment on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein humiliated
25:70

ََ ‫ب َو َءا َم ََن َو َ َِع ََل َ ََع ً َل َص ٰـ ِل ًحَا فَٱُول َ ٰـ ٓ ِئ‬

َُ ‫ك يُ َب ِد َُل ٱ ذ‬
َ ‫ّلل َس ِيـَاِتِ ِ َْم َح َسنَ ٰـ‬
‫ت‬ ََ َ‫َا ذَل َم َن َت‬
ِ
‫ح‬ ِ
ُ َ
‫ّلل غف ًورَا ذر مي ًَا‬ َ
َُ ‫َوَك ََن ٱ ذ‬
Except for those who repent, believe and do righteous work. For them Allah will replace their evil
deeds with good. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.

25:71

َِ ‫وب ا َ َل ٱ ذ‬
‫ّلل َمتَ ًَاب‬ َُ ‫ب َو َ َِع ََل َص ٰـ ِل ًحَا فَان ذ ُهَۥ ي َ ُت‬
ََ َ‫َو َم َن َت‬
ِ ِ
And he who repents and does righteousness does indeed turn to Allah with [accepted] repentance.

25:72

‫ور َوا َذَا َم ُّر َوا بِٱلل ذ ْغ َِو َم ُّر َوا ِك َرا ًمَا‬
ََ ‫ون ٱ ُّلز‬ ََ ‫َوٱ ذ َِّل‬
ََ ُ‫ين ََل ي َْشهَد‬
ِ
And [they are] those who do not testify to falsehood, and when they pass near ill speech, they pass by
with dignity.

25:73

ًَ‫ُصَا َو ُ َْع َيان‬ َِ ‫ين ا َذَا ُذ ِك ُر َوا ِبـَاي َ ٰـ‬

ًّ ُ ‫ت َر ِ ِّب َْم ل َ َْم َ َِي ُّر َوا عَلَ ْهيََا‬ ََ ‫َوٱ ذ َِّل‬
ِ
And those who, when reminded of the verses of their Lord, do not fall upon them deaf and blind.

25:74

‫ي َوٱ ْج َعلْنََا‬
َ ُ ‫َب لَنََا ِم َْن َٱ ْز َ َٰو ِجنََا َو ُذ ِري ذ ٰـ ِتنََا ُق ذرََة َٱ ْع‬ ََ ُ‫ين ي َ ُقول‬
َْ ‫ون َربذنََا ه‬ ََ ‫َوٱ ذ َِّل‬
ََ ‫ِللْ ُمتذ ِق‬
‫ي ا َما ًمَا‬
ِ
And those who say, "Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes and
make us a leader [i.e., example] for the righteous."
25:75

‫ك ُ ُْي َز ْو ََن ٱلْغ ُْرفَ ََة ِب َمَا َص َ َُب َوا َويُلَقذ ْو ََن ِفهيََا َ َِت ذي ًَة َو َسلَ ٰـ ًمَا‬
ََ ‫ُٱول َ َٰـ ٓ ِئ‬
Those will be awarded the Chamber for what they patiently endured, and they will be received therein
with greetings and [words of] peace,

25:76

َْ َ ‫ين ِفهيََاَ َح ُسن‬

‫ت ُم ْس َت َق ًّرَا َو ُم َقا ًمَا‬ ََ ‫َخ ٰـ ِ ِل‬
Abiding eternally therein. Good is the settlement and residence.

25:77

َ َ ‫ُق َْل َمَا ي َ ْع َب ُؤَا ِب َُْك َر ِ َب ل َ ْو ََل ُدعَا ٓ ُؤَُْكَ فَ َق َْد َك ذذبْ َُْت فَ َس ْو‬
َُ ‫ف يَ ُك‬
‫ون ِل َزا ًۢمَا‬
Say, "What would my Lord care for you if not for your supplication?" For you [disbelievers] have
denied, so it [i.e., your denial] is going to be adherent.
