Objectives:

 To make students more productive during summer internship – You are only as good as
the value you add to your company.

 Help students apply studies to the real world during summer internship.

 Ascertain the seriousness of summer internship by designing the evaluation criteria to

include homework needed to be done before the start of internship.

Structure of the Course and Evaluation

1. Report writing Submission (in Group of 3): Incentive Scheme Design - 10 marks
2. Report on Industry analysis (individual)- (15 marks)
a. Life cycle
b. Industry players, market share
c. Drivers of the industry
d. Profitability
e. Regulations
f. Merger and acquisition/ consolidation potential in the industry
g. Changing consumer profile
h. Trend in product portfolio
i. Global scenario of the industry
j. Additional information pertaining to the industry
3. Report on Company Analysis(individual)- (15 marks)
a. Profile of the company
b. Product range
c. Distribution channel
d. IMC
e. Business model / revenue generation
f. SWOT
g. Five Force analysis
h. Basic financial analysis with interpretation
i. Market cap analysis
4. Pre-summer Project(individual)- (30 marks)
 The project title has to be finalized after discussion with the faculty mentor before 16th Jan,
2010. Students have to submit a proposal to the faculty guide before 25th January, 2010 and
obtain the approval by 30th Jan, 2010.

5. Summer Project(individual)- (30 marks)

a. Proposal Submission (10 marks)
b. Interim Report (10 marks)
c. Final Report (10 marks)
The list of Faculty mentors for summer project will be informed before 28th February, 2010.
Not more than 20 students will be allotted to one faculty mentor.
The students have to meet their respective faculty mentors in between 6th March, 2010 to 12th
March, 2010.

Deadline for submissions:

Both hard and soft copies of the reports are to be submitted to the coordinator as per the deadline.

Deadline for all submissions stands at 2.00 p.m. on following dates.

Proposal Submission (soft copy only) 15th April, 2010
