● Before you go shopping, make a list of the things you want.
● When you go shopping for clothes, ask yourself:
Why am I buying this T-shirt? Is it only because it’s on sale? Is it really a bargain? Do I really want a
purple and green T-shirt?
● Don’t shop for food at the supermarket when you feel hungry! Hungry people buy too much food –
and the wrong kind of food! Go shopping after a meal.
● Buy things from your local market. Prices are usually cheaper there.
● When you go into a shop, ask the salesperson for help or advice. Then you won’t buy the wrong
things.
● Don’t go shopping when you are bored. Not all activities cost money! For example, you can meet your
friends in the park.
● Save some money every week. Do you really want an ice cream every day in the summer? Stop
buying ice cream for a month and you can afford to buy that awesome new computer game!
