SOIL TYPE: SILTY CLAY
CROP PLANTED: NONE
LAND OWNER: MAC BUILDERS/ PMI
DATE OF SOIL SAMPLE COLLECTION: APRIL 12, 2019
DATE OF SOIL SAMPLING: APRIL 12, 2019
RESULTS REMARKS/RECOMMENDATIONS
Ph The Ph level of the soil is within the range of 5.5 to 7.0, this means that most plant nutrients are in readily available, hence plants prefer
6.4 to grow.
6.4 ph is slightly acidic (bellow neutral Ph which is 7.0)
N The soil tested has high level of nitrogen. Plants prefer to grow in this soil if potassium, phosphorus and other essential nutrients
HIGH is present.

P Plants planted in this kind of soil will have dark green and erect leaves, stunted, delayed maturity, can’t produce flower, high level of
LOW unfilled grains for cereal crops. There is a need to apply high amount of phosphorus fertilizer to this soil.

K No The result indicates that the soil is potassium deficient. This means that the plants in this soil will be stunted, dark green with yellowish
distinct brown leaf margins, unhealthy or black roots, greater lodging, higher level of unfilled grains and lower grain weight for cereals. There is
cloudy need to apply potassium fertilizer.

RECOMMENDATION FOR CORN

RESULTS REMARKS/RECOMMENDATIONS
Ph The Ph level of the soil is within the range of 5.5 to 7.0, this means that most plant nutrients are in readily available, hence plants prefer
6.7 to grow.
6.7 ph is slightly acidic (bellow neutral Ph which is 7.0)
N The soil tested has moderately low Nitrogen content, it is recommended to apply nitrogen fertilizer. For corn (OPV-HYV) 60 Kg of
N/ha. For hybrid corn 100 kg of Nitrogen per ha is needed to apply.
Moderately
low
P The result means there is a little need to apply Phosphorus. For OPOV-HYV Corn and Hybrid Corn (20 Kg of P/HECTAR is needed)

Moderately
high
K The result indicates that the soil is sufficient with potassium but still need little amount of Potassium rich fertilizer. For corn both hybrid
sufficient + and OPV needs 30 kg of Potassium/ hectar.

NOTE; The soil being tested was collected at a required depth for sampling (20-30cm).
