INTRODUCTION

Ageing, as we all know is a life-long process that is continuously ever-changing. Getting old is

part of a normal life process. In most of the developed countries consider the age of 65 years as a

definition of „senior citizen, but in most of the developing countries 60 years age is considered

as definition of older person (UN 2002). As we get older, we tend to see a variety of changes in

physical and in other aspects of the human being; in social, mental and spiritual. It is an

inevitable life process that is also accompanied by health changes which is undeniably common

among older persons.

Aging, progressive physiological changes in an organism that lead to senescence, or a decline of

biological functions and of the organism’s ability to adapt to metabolic stress (Rogers, 2020).

Changes in skin, hair graying, and tooth decaying are just some dominant physical changes that

are commonly seen on aging people. Biologic and physiologic changes is not unknown some of

which includes, blurring of eye vision, hearing problems, lacking taste buds, etc. Comorbidity is

also common among Senior citizens where some inevitable health condition arises such as

diabetes, arthritis, and hypertension.

Moreover, prominent change in Senior citizen also includes on their capability to handle things

as they get old and as compared to how they used to, before. It is really a challenge for most of

the old people as frailty interferes with their daily activity of living.
As Lette et al., (2017) study revealed early detection of problems related to health and wellbeing

and proactive delivery of care and support are employed with the aim to help (frail) older people

remain independent and self-reliant for as long as possible. Various initiatives, which we refer to

as ‘early detection initiatives’, have been developed to support this aim.

According to Hunter (2020) Public health initiatives are set up by the Australian government

with the broad intention of improving people's health. There are lots of different health initiatives

in Australia aimed at addressing a wide range of health issues, from public health research

initiatives to mental health campaign. Hunter (2020) contend that a public health initiative is a

program or initiative that provides support for specific health issues that exist within the

community. They're generally set up by the government and seek to inform and assist the public.

As an old person being prone to different health problem and condition, one of the most valuable

for their life is their well-being. The sense of a well-being of an old person differs on how they

perceive their “subjective well-being”.

Becoming old over a period of time is unstoppable, but what we can do to help ease inevitable

changes of dynamic dimensions in an old adult life is to help them get through on their activity

of daily living and alleviating any profound conditions they are burdened with through health

initiatives and to make some changes on how they view their well-being, their life.
