Recommendations are given f o r three classes o f i n s t a l l a t i o n s , based on spare parts a v a i l a b i l i t y , and
cover one s h i f t operation f o r one year.

CLASS 1 (Min.) — Covers recommended q u a n t i t i e s o f spares f o r a single u n i t where additional spare

parts are o r d i n a r i l y available from branch or dealer stock.
CLASS 2 (Ave.) — Covers recommended quantities o f spares f o r a single u n i t where additional spare
parts would not be readily available.
CLASS 3 (Max.) — Covers recommended q u a n t i t i e s o f spare parts f o r a single unit where maximum protec-
t i o n from a major shutdown must be afforded, such as an export i n s t a l l a t i o n .

The Spare Parts Recommendations are applicable t o machines now being assembled. When spares are o r -
dered f o r s p e c i f i c machines by s e r i a l numbers, i t may be necessary t o make a few substitutions t o ensure
t h a t the parts w i l l f i t the machines f o r which they are intended.
Because we are not f a m i l i a r w i t h local operation and maintenance conditions, we cannot guarantee
that these recommendations include every part that may be required in any given period of time, nor can
we warrant that a l l o f these parts w i l l be needed. Generally, however, we are confident that these

The YD90 D r i f t e r i s a 90 tnri (3-1/2 i n . ) bore Blower Tube:

hammer d r i l l that incorporates an independently
c o n t r o l l e d , gear type, a i r powered r o t a t i o n motor
to rotate the d r i l l steel i n place o f the conven-
t i o n a l r i f l e bar, r i f l e nut r o t a t i o n .
The d r i f t e r i s designed f o r surface d r i l l i n g
applications on our pneumatic operated Crawlair
D r i l l i n g Rigs, and i s capable o f d r i l l i n g 44 mm
(1-3/4 i n . ) t o 64 mm (2-1/2 i n . ) diameter holes i n
a l l types o f rock formations.
Pneumatic Rotation Motor:
The YD90 D r i f t e r i s designed with an independ-
e n t l y - c o n t r o l l e d , pneumatic-powered, gear r o t o r
type r o t a t i o n motor that provides continuous d r i l l
steel r o t a t i o n - forward or reverse.
The YD90 D r i f t e r uses a i r as the hole cleaning
medium. A 13.0 mm (1/2 i n . ) O.D. x 11.0 mm (7/16
i n . ) I.D. blower tube swaged down t o 10.2 mm
(13/32 i n . ) O.D. x 8.2 mm (21/64 i n . ) I.D. carries
hole cleaning a i r from the i n l e t connection i n the
backhead, through the center o f the d r i l l , s t r i k -
ing bar, steel and b i t , t o the bottom o f the hole
without contacting any o f internal parts of the
drifter.
Chuck Parts:
The YD90 D r i f t e r i s designed with chuck parts t o
accomodate a 4-splined s t r i k i n g bar w i t h 38 mm
(1-1/2 i n . ) shank and stem diameters.
