Denver International Airport

Christian Johnstone

On February 28, 1995 construction on the Denver International Airport concluded

and it was now available to the public for use of travel. During the extensive

construction period there were many things that the public noticed was going on that

made questions arise. Between the horse statue, strange murals, the extended period

of time that it took to complete the airport, and the extreme amount of money over

budget they went on this project; it was bound that there would be some conspiracy

theories that would arise from this landmark.

The “Blue Mustang” outside of the Denver International Airport is frequently

referred to as “Blucifer” because of its demonic look and the conspiracies surrounding it.

This statue stands at 32 feet tall and is made from fiberglass and was sculpted by an

artist by the name of Luis Jiménez. Many believe it to be a bearer of bad energy as the

horse actually killed its sculptor as he was working on it. In 2006 as Luis Jiménez was

working on completing the sculpture a piece came loose and severed an artery in his

leg and ended up killing him.

The strange murals inside of the airport have also brought many people to

believe that there is more than what they told the public about the airport. The main

mural widely known to most as one of the ones that conspiracy theorists latch onto the

most is one by the name of “Children of the World Dream of Peace”. It shows a soldier

wearing a gas mask holding a sword and a rifle as there are people running away with

one of them holding a dead child. Also in this painting there is a child laying down

asleep on the floor holding a teddy bear.

The amount of money and time that was spent on this project was insane. This

project went roughly two years past their intended deadline and cost about 2 billion
more than their initial budget called for. This was due to the fact that there were many

different contractors that ended up working on this project. Supposedly there are 6

underground levels of this establishment but there was no evidence that I could find that

proves this theory. Many people believe that this was because there is a hidden bunker

for only the highest government officials of the United States to hide out in if there was

an apocalypse. There are also people who believe that this is hide out for the Illuminati.

The Illuminati is also a conspiracy theory in itself as people think it is a secret society of

major influencers in our society. Along with this theory there are many more that believe

that there are tunnels that connect this airport to the Air Force base in Colorado Springs

and from that base to the Cheyenne Mountain Complex just outside of Colorado

Springs.

The Denver International Airport is in layman's terms a mecca of conspiracy

theories as there are many different ones about the place itself. In my opinion I do not

believe anything until there is confirmed evidence about the topic itself. So until there is
confirmed evidence that there is a bunker under the airport or that the murals are a

tribute to a higher society then I believe that these people are trying to make something

out of nothing.
